***Official ICT v Hearts Matchday thread***

Recommended Posts

A lot of missed chances last weekend so hopefully have our shooting boots on this week. I fancy a tweak in formation with two up front and McEneff and Big Gnando involved in our goals

Draw after a torturous 90 mins of Robbie's tactics and only 1 up top. And wingers who just aren't good enough and an uninterested Naismith in the number 10 role with Walker on the bench again.

I have a really bad feeling we are gonna get humped. God i hope I am wrong and this is the return to form we badly need....

Neil McCann is an interesting choice as temporary Inverness manager while Robbo is away. He likes to play out from the back so pressure on Brad McKay...

If Walker is fit he’ll start.

Not sure Brad McKay has been starting games of late.

Lets hope so Dave. He has done enough to warrant it.

Would not surprise me in the least although it pains me to agree. McCann knows how we play and he will know our weaknesses and will no doubt want to get one over on us.

Strangely when he has started he has been poor - his best games have been coming off the bench Dave.

Boyce Gnando

Onus on FBs to get up the park with Haring covering them.  I'd love to play Boyce and Naismith up front but neither Neilson nor Naismith can be trusted to keep him up top, around the box!

If Haring isn't up to it (why's he on the bench then???), the team becomes this

Gordon

Smith Popescu Halkett Kingsley

Kastaneer McEneff Irving Walker

Boyce Gnando

Walker with freedom to play from there inside with Kingsley overlapping all game, Smith perhaps a little more conservative making it a 3 at the back at times, but supporting Kas when the balls that side.

Frankly its a toss-up on the wingers.  Kas looks powerful and like he could make something happen.  GMS sit out and see if he can make impact from bench and build confidence.

I hope big Gnando starts but when was the last time one of our wingers or full backs got to the byline to whip on a decent cross? 🤔

It doesn't happen very often mainly because our strikers are dropping deep to try and get the ball and the wingers are incapapable of going beyond a full back and putting in a telling cross.

The service the wingers get certainly doesn't help when they receive the ball when they are facing thwe wrong way with a defender right at their back.

Maybe if we tried putting the ball behind defenders for the wingers to run onto or playing quick one two's we might get somewhere.

Again I hope for a far more convincing performance.

Anything but a convincing win against a team containing 4 or 5 guys deemed not good enough for Hearts would be a horrendous result.

But can we afford the luxury of having players who can only "manage" 30-45 minutes?

What a difference in our attitude from last time in the second division where we looked forward to games and expected goals and performances. Now we’re shiting ourselves against the pish in this league

Dunfermline and Dundee away to QoS and Morton. Not easy. Raith home to Alloa.

Sad but I almost look out to see who they’re playing as I don’t trust Hearts to win at the moment.

I'm not looking forward to this, he has to drop this two winger shit, one change I would make is manager.

Hearts loss. First Friday game I'll not be watching this season.

I'll be baking cookies instead.

2-2.

Unbeaten run extended to 7 games.

Got a feeling we will score early and dismantle someone but not on Friday.

With the exception of the 6-2 win against Dundee, our Friday night performances have been pretty poor.

Not sure what it is about these games.

I think there's a thread or two on here about that.
