He’s had nothing to fight for though. Very few balls in, no crosses and any through balls have been dreadful.

making decent runs though so I’d be inclined to disagree.

He could try and jump though. Any high ball his feet are glued to the ground.

Agree though, the service has been non existent.

Popescu growing on me.   Tricky night but has looked pretty sound and I like he’s a ball carrier out of defence which we need to see against teams sitting on.   Need to go easy on our players tonight though, conditions are playing havoc but reckon we’ll see goals in second half playing down wind.

Agreed. Popescu looking increasingly comfortable which is helping solidity of the defence

Ayr vs Hearts and half time interview is with Scott McKenna?

Worth it to see him wipe out a hobo whilst on loan at Ayr

New guys both on now please. Need to see something different this half, been so poor. Every where we either lose or just scrape a win they seem scared to shoot.

Great half and some nice football in difficult conditions, cut out our own individual errors and Ayr haven't really had a sniff.

Good posts from the usual morons on here as well. All in all a decent night so far.

great half    if you think that was a great 45 minutes of football :rifle:

It will get more air and direct sunlight than ours. Big stands close to the pitch doesn’t help any pitch.

That’s no excuse, look at the excellent pitches in England in huge banked stadiums - our “state of the art, computer monitored, £1m hybrid pitch” has been a huge disappointment

Hang on, people are looking at Armand and Boyce and thinking Armand should be coming off? Neither have played great but I think Armand hasn’t done anything wrong and has been starved of service whereas this must be the worst I’ve seen Boyce play. I do wonder what people are watching sometimes, jesus...

Boyce doesn't look bothered. Bet he scores

We're not much better than them which is sad.

Their passing is better than ours, at least they know where their team mates are.

Wouldn't be disappointed if Naismith started second half instead Boyce and we changed our shape slightly.

We should be bullying and harassing these teams.

In a 40mph wind and pissing rain ?

Ayr seem to have a style of play despite the weather. I can actually see what they are trying to do.

Maybe we need to develop a few styles of play, defo need one for 40mph wind and pissing rain, unless this is the style for those conditions.

Ah right, I’d forgotten the pitch was one of your many hobby horses.

Pro rata

You can’t average so many goals a season if you’ve never played a season, that doesn’t make any sense.  You can average a goal in every 2 or whatever, that would be more accurate.

Nobody seems to have noticed the appalling conditions. Barca would struggle to look good!

Exactly.   Easy to be armchair critics tonight.

They're running rings round us.

Typical Hearts first half.  Far too deep, our strikers sitting in our half waiting for scraps, can't string two passes together, they're in our faces and in our penalty box creating havoc.

Surely we can only get better.

I think he's stuck in an alternative universe where Hearts are winning 4-0 at half time.
