About 10 points short of the lead that should be there.  Hopefully they can weather the first 8 minutes minus Russell and reset.

Depressing thing is that if England had been that dominant, the score would be something like 20-3 to them.

Disappointing end to the half.

Hopefully hold them out till Russell comes back.

Good half. Pity we can only score on the odd occasion. If that was the reserve, we'd be pumped already.

As always England know where and when to give away penalties. I also think there needs to be a sliding scale of yellows introduced if the authorities are serious about cutting out foul play. Does a trip that didn’t stop a move and wasn’t spotted in real time by the ref justify the same time off the pitch as a high tackle? Also very early in the half when Fagerson broke towards the line he was stopped by a no arm tackle by the English centre, no mention from the commentators as it was low on the player.

Textbook Scotland.

Left at least 5 pts on the pitch and, while 2pts up, are a man down for 8 minutes. The man happens to be the lynchpin of our side.

So yeh, good stuff. England will come out ans banter us early doors. Need to withstand the storm.

Agreed. Why not have some offences 5 mins, some 10 and some 15. A trip is a trip. A high tackle is potentially very dangerous...and worse it only seemed like Vunipola got yellow was because his was the 9th penalty in 23 minutes...

You wonder why the media keep using Clive Woodward as a pundit. Every year he says England will wipe the floor with everyone and every year he gets embarrassed at least once or twice...

Still think England will win this but it has to be said, they’re very limited

I was laughing when he was talking about entertaining rugby. His England team were the most negative rugby team I can remember. Very effective but hardly ever used the excellent backs he had in the team. To the extent most of the good play we saw from most of them was in a Lions jersey.

Yep, has the feeling of the usual hard luck story but we are playing brilliantly so far.

Scotland have struggled to turn their dominance into points. Hopefully don’t pay for this.

Ffs Russell. Can't afford to miss those.

What a ****ing kick from Hogg into the corner.

Even if we lose it will be worth it for the look of panic on Jones’ face as he went to the bench there.

Not sure what Russell is smiling about - that's a bread and butter kick at goal

It's the kind of miss that could be costly

Again, Farrell doesn’t miss that

When we last played them he missed the majority.

Doesn't make him any good as a pundit though. Why does coaching a team which has more players than anyone else to a WC entitle you to a job for life getting things wrong as a pundit? Plus he was rubbish as a Lions coach yet he gets asked to be a pundit for Lions tours too...

If Scotland don't win this they'll only have themselves to blame

Should be at least 15 points ahead

If we want to be a top rugby nation we need to score from these situations. Don't see them mess up like that too often1

Our forwards are very good in the loose but we don’t have the massive units England have in situations like that.

For all his skill and ability Russell is always a second away from a costly error

Gets a bit too cocky at times

Russell is so frustrating

Much like Townsend was himself TBH.  Their minds are that bit sharper and and because they are willing to take risks, it is really hard for their teammates to second-guess what will happen next also...

Now it is time for the game to be ruined by half the teams being replaced in the last 20. Another rubbish rugby rule aimed at helping the big countries.

I’d still rather have Russell any day of the week compared a kicking robot like Farrell or Biggar.

I agree. Only 3 tactical subs should be allowed plus head injury subs. And if you go off with a head injury you must follow concussion protocol and not be available to play for the set number of days.
