Runs all day, absolutely lethal when he cuts back inside onto his left foot.

19 years old. Bags of potential.

Contract runs out at the end of season.

Sign him up Hearts ffs.

So many players we just don't bother with. Greg Stewart style.

Not sure, but I thought they said on commentary, that he has just signed a 3 1/2 year deal?

If not, would be a great player to snap up!!!

Wont happen with CL and AM at the helm of signings.  They prefer  injury prone players.

Levein loves a gamble unfortunately.

Just go and get the players to do the job.

We have the 3rd/4th highest budget in the league.

We should be taking these players from Motherwell etc.

Oh not another one.

If we had shown an interest it would of got out. Family, friends, whispers = newspapers.

A bit weird that he’s only just burst through in the last few weeks, especially since his contract is up at the end of the season. Apparently was on loan to Alloa but has he been playing for Motherwell regularly? I guess I’m wondering about his consistency.

We would try and turn him into a wing back

We shoulld be signing them?

No. Some of us have actually seen him fire in goals with that left foot before today.

It was Gary Holt before he became shite, which didn't take long.

No guarantee he would be a success for us just because he is playing well for Motherwell. Every signing is a gamble.

John Sutton?

Laptop managers make this game sound a piece of piss.

Amankwaa was a well documented risk signing, the kind that clubs like us take, Martin did have a good pedigree but turns out Scottish football didn't suit him.

Played 18 games on loan at Alloa, scored 1 goal, maybe a purple patch flash in the pan, time will tell

MoncurMacdonaldMercer

more likely to go for a qos bench warmer

what's happened to all fantastic youngsters as well - starting to look like another bunch of promising youngsters  who might not quite make it at hearts (Cochrane aside hopefully)

Sunderland are just one of a number of English clubs rumoured to be interested in one of Scotland’s brightest talents.

According to a report by The Daily Record, Jack Ross’ side has scouted Motherwell’s Jake Hastie recently and are keeping tabs on the youngster.  It is  claimed The Black Cats could face competition from the Championship with clubs such as Leeds United, West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and Swansea City all having taken an interest in him.

Didn’t notice it so much at the game but on watching it back you can see the confidence in the younger Motherwell players to take the ball on, drive into the box and look for a shot...given the standard of defences (including ours) in the Scottish game there is joy to be had with this approach. Cochrane did this last season and Zanatta did it (and scored) in the brief few minutes of first team action he was given last season...much of this is about confidence. Taking out Uche and Naismith I don’t see many in our first team willing to take a chance, the safe option is often taken...very frustrating.

He'd scored 4 goals for Motherwell before today, and only 2 of those were with his left foot. I suspect like the majority of posters on here (including me) you hadn't heard of him a month ago. But batter on with the negativity.

2 in the league against Livingston and 1 against St Mirren, hardly Roy Race standard just yet.

Lord Beni of Gorgie

Seems Motherwell have been surprised by his progress.

OP sounds like my teenage son. Just go cherry pick.

Best player I've ever seen, ever.

He's not 96 and been injured every week for 65 years though so zero chance of Shnake Lheeevin going anywhere near.

Some have been injured, some are out on development loans, some are not good enough and some are in the match day squads.

Was there any in particular you were asking about and I'll see if i can help you.

I was more impressed with Turnbull to be honest. Thought he was calm and composed in midfield but kept the ball moving quickly and helped Motherwell transition from defence to attack

Cochrane's had horrendous luck with injuries (kinda sounds like he's being targeted).

Irving's out on loan

McDonald's out on loan

Keena's back

Morrison is looking good

Godinho has a chance to stake his claim

Brandon's been injured pretty much all season.

Currie, Zanatta, Henderson & Moore are all on loan too.

Doesn't really make for great reading but I reckon we'd have seen more of Cochrane but for injuries. I think it might be another couple of years before we start to have youth grads in our first team as regulars.

Disappointed at today's result, but fair play to the club, their manager and their youth system.

They are clearly going about things the right way.

I'll probably get pelters for praising them.

Not at all.

Feck off.

Well reasoned reply.

Last year a lot of folk including me were happy to play them. Looks like CL has decided they are to young or not ready and is buying up journeymen.

Meantime quite a lot of folk are bumming up other teams young boys (who looked good) who have been given a chance unlike our own.
