Happy memories of his barney with Strachan in the Ivanauskas led 2-1 win over Celtic in 2006 , added to my enjoyment of that day.

Good luck to my namesake.

Hadn't seen that picture before. Brilliant.

Best of luck John. He did pretty well there before.

Man, he was shocking for us

Very harsh !

Was a very difficult time  ! - it was mental behind the scenes and he was replacing Sergio.

He got us to a league cup final.

(He would have managed the final better than the incumbent did.)

He was a late fecken Luis Suarez goal away from beating Liverpool at Anfield.

Hey - I'm not saying he's Guardiola but he deserves more respect than he gets in these parts.

It maybe wasn't his best decision to go out and check out the pitch half way through changing out of his training gear into his suit he wore on the touchline.

But it's hardly something to constantly slag him about and bring out that photo every time his name is mentioned. It's not as if he dressed like that all the time.

Couldn't agree more - good call. Hope he does well at Raith.

John was an excellent youth coach. Produced some good players from our academy when he was there

Hopefully John goes into Falkirk and gets them up the leagues again no sure if they have their youth teams but he works well with them.

Tommy Brown

I think he a decent football man. Put in a position above his station, he would have been stupid to turn down.

Certainly not the worst we have had in charge.

Good luck to him.

I think they scrapped their previous youth model, which is a shame as it produced some good players. Ah well, thanks for Kingsley.

Raith haven't been a top flight team in decades. Feel a bit bad for McGlynn, hopefully Falkirk proves to be a good move for him, he comes off as a proper football man.

Think folk forget he did a lot of the early work with the likes of Walker, Paterson, Nicholson etc. and gave us that draw at Anfield.

I'd happily take him coaching in the academy tbh.

Met him a few times when he was scouting Celtics European opponents

Modest and quite shy but loosened up once you started talking about fitba

RR would have been in playoffs at least but for Goodwillie fiasco IMO. Form dropped badly. Good move for John and still a challenge, wish him all the best.

Good appointment for Falkirk who knows the division and plays good football. Couldn’t have stayed after the goodwillie debacle

Given that many Rovers' fans think that John McGlynn was the driving force behind that fiasco, since he was desperate for somebody who could score goals in the second half of the season, he won't be going down that road again.

I have it on good authority that Falkirk made several bids for him but pulled out having been told that it would cost them 90% of their sponsorship income if they went ahead with the move so they pulled out.

John will do well at Falkirk hope he gets them back up and a push for promotion back to the premiership. I would rather see Falkirk up and around the top of the championship than Partick Thistle and Inverness 🥱

I like McGlynn and don't have any hard feelings about his time at Hearts but he was fully involved in the Goodwillie debacle. Good move for Falkirk, but he had to move on from Raith at this point.

If he's good enough for JJ, he's good enough for me.

He's having a very good career in football.

i wish jj was my dad

A good guy. Didn't have the personality for a big club like ours but a decent coach and worth having around.

Would have loved to have seen him leather Strachan too.

He is actually a very good manager/coach at that level.

Was well out his depth having to work under Vlad.Glad he has still managed to carve out a career though as a lot wouldn't have.Seems like a nice guy to.

Had completely forgotten he was their manager.  Makes that result even better.

Slightly related, is Billy Brown now coaching a junior team? Another good guy imo.
