Ha Ha Ha, Have you been to Chelsea recently

I haven't and I wont ever. Or any English club for that matter.

Suppose you're going to tell me how they are so diverse, multicultural abd oh so well behaved now?

Probably all the tourists.

I certainly think the benefit would outweigh the cost, yes.

The vast majority don't discriminate on the grounds of nationality or traveller status. The worlds changed mate, get out and have a look sometime.

Well, thanks for wishing me out of existence, old chap.

I'd refer you to any of my previous posts where I have reminded the slow of thinking (might include you, I'll reserve judgement) that the Celtic/Sevco fan bases are drawn from throughout Scotland and a small adjacent island, the more so if you include the pot-belied drunks who wear the tops and subscribe to the culture but never go to games. More people identify with Celtic or Sevco in Peterhead, Inverness, Dumfries, Kilmarnock, Ayr, Paisley, Dumbarton, Motherwell etc etc than with the respective local teams. They are a cancer on my native city, yep, but they are a cancer on the rest of Scotland as well, and beyond. Glasgow teams? I don't even think of them as Scottish teams, given the IRish, Union Jack and Ulster flags that proliferate in their sinkholes.

Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen are perhap places in Scotland less affected by the pull of the Old Firm. ALl the same, I think you'd be disturbed if there was ever a headcount. They're everywhere.

I was at the game and in the stadium. “A large group of Croats” I counted 17 fans inside the stadium until about 25 minutes into the game when the police escorted in around 60 more (tops) fans but the boys that came in went straight to the police barriers etc looking to stir it up. Outside from what i saw, was about 500 yards in front of me, few handbags and the usual pavement dancing stuff till we got closer and folk where signalling the boy had been slashed/stabbed. Couldn’t tell you who started what but anyone who takes a knife to the game is a joke. I’d also echo the police Scotland are a joke statement. Looked like the Croatian fans done an organised walk to the game with flags and banners etc but no police escort, probably because there was only about 70 of them in total.

Not a fan of sevco- but if the Croatians thought they were gonna behave like Zagreb did here, and expect to get away with it in the weedge, this was always gonna happen

What did Zagreb do here? I don't recall any trouble. Perfect hosts over there too, apart from the pumping.

Had a pretty impressive firework display iirc.

Mind you that night have been the Bosnian team Zljenkar or something☺

I just remember just about hitting the roof when it started.

Don't remember any bother on either occasion though.

I'll say something, the soul might be being sucked right out the English game but at least it's taking a lot of the dinosaurs with it.

Been at Scotland-Croatia games at Hampden. No bother, fans mingling before the game.

The good thing here is that UEFA are not intimidated by the Old Firm and they won't balk at punishing Sevco.

Sevco will blame police, SFA non-execs and chairman, foreigners, Chelsea fans and tiny minorities of troublemakers outside the ground, then claim everyone hates them and bullies them but together they can resist those that seek to oppress them.... I wouldn't be surprised if they claim I am cyber bullying them by saying this...

Nah it was at Tynecastle.

I remember that much. It was probably the tightness of the stadium that made it so loud.

Mate, don't even engage with the numbskull. It's futile trying to communicate with people like him and he only posts stuff to try and be controversial or to wind people up.

Not anti Rangers.

But the generalizing of their support.

Their support doesn't need generalisation. I can say quite unequivocally that the majority of their support are bigots. The same goes for the other lot at the East side of Glasgow.

The above paragraph is said with 50 years experience of Scottish/ Glasgow football behind me.

In this instance the blame lies with both the Croats and Sevco. Neither are blameless.

They were a bit nuts and I think our 'boys' gave them a wide berth when they were here, apart from one who assured us they would be going home in coffins if they started anything.

I think he's still hiding behind his couch though.

No trouble that I recall though.

What a ridiculous thing to expect. Rangers can't control what happens away from Ibrox any more than Hearts can control what happens at Haymarket.

100% there was trouble in Zagreb. Not a lot of it, but it was there.

If we'd have won over there, it would have been a very different story though.

Isolated incidents which you can get anywhere. The Croat old bill had it nailed down quite tight and the atmosphere at The Bulldog was great all day. Like us, a few wee pockets left before the clear out....didn't fancy being in the stadium 2 hours early, got in for KO !...and there was a couple of wee daft things on the way to the ground.

At Tynecastle, it was quite funny. They had a mock fight, which had the stewards in a pickle, then the flares all set off at once, had them in a bigger pickle !

Never heard of anything outside apart from an alleged altercation at Bensons.

That was Zagreb !

Not sure how it all transpired but if they did walk from the centre of Glasgow to Ibrox, singing etc in a group...em....good luck with that !

When you put it like that, then I wish the soul would get completely sucked right out of Scottish football as well mate, an interesting analogy that.

Croatia are probably more political and religious than the West of Scotland  Old Firm fans are, Croats who follow their national side are very patriotic people and very switched on towards Scottish people, however there are also Croats who will never follow their national side and there's often a lot of organised gangs who turn up at Croatia matches just to cause disruption and try to get Croatia kicked out of comps etc, you might already have seen this, but when sides from Split play sides from Zagreb, it's not for the faint hearted.

You’re right in saying it was pockets of little incidents, not to the same standard as last night right enough. But we drank with some of the BBB after the away leg and they were quite upfront about the idea that, if we had won that night, they’d have been kicking our collective ***** in.

Trivialise? No far from it, bud.

EDIT:

Your final comments are my views too, well said.

The point, I read from the post, was one group looking for trouble got it returned by another group happy to do so.

Which was my point in that Rangers had recent history against Hearts fans.

The "nothing to see", I read as as nothing to do wih bigotry ot sectarianism, which Jake totally de-railed the to with his bizarre posting manner.

Again, the post (IMO) was all about knuckle-draggers , will always be knuckle-draggers..

So, i did not see anything to wet pants about and demand bannings.

You're entitled to think he's wrong, out of order even. I'd be inclined to agree with you.

Banned from a forum because he doesn't care about it though? Are we the thought police now?

It's not even as if he went as far as saying they deserved it or he was pleased, he just said it isn't big news, these things happen. I think he's obviously playing down a serious issue, hardly a banning offence

Fair enough , if iv picked parts up wrong , boiled my p*** a bit at the time. Banning is a bit ott , just think it was out of order and deserved a boot in the balls for the comments and how I took them. Which was by not calling it out they were saying its acceptable just turn a blind eye. May not have helped trying to dechiper Jakes ramblings and derailing in the middle.

There is definately always knuckledraggers , hopefully something that will overtime become a bigger minority.

So Rangers fans or fans associated with Rangers have been involved in fights with Wigan fans and two Croatian fans end up stabbed. I'm sorry total vermin.

This needs seriously checked by the club and if not the powers that be...

Wonder if any of the rangers fans who were saying it was their own who had been stabbed and the Croatians deserved the jail sentences that would be upcoming will have a different view now or who they will blame.

That aside , it says one released , one awaiting tests so fingers crossed all is ok and nothing to severe comes out of it for Scottish football after two incidents in just a few days and this one on a large stage.

First reply I seen to the news it was Croats was "Good" and "another fantastic result last night".

They are firmly laying the blame at Celtic supporters and the police. Nothing to do with themselves obviously.
