2-3-5 rather than 3-2-5. Not that it matters. I remember the stick Hearts got in the press (what's new) when they changed to the "ultra defensive" 4-2-4. I've been wracking my ageing brain since this thread started to remember Tommy Traynor's nickname. I don't remember it being used by the fans but I remember Willie Wallace shouting to him at the back of the stand and I'm sure he called him Wispy. Maybe someone else can confirm. I only heard him called that once despite the fact I used to stand outside the players entrance every home game getting my programme signed. I'm sure the players must have been sick of the sight of me.

it doesn't matter much bu despite the traditional 2-3-5 numbering the centre half or number 5 eg freddie glidden was in practice the last man in a back three. The wing halves or numbers 4 and 6 eg mackay and cumming played further forward in more midfield position.
