cosanostra
Once upon a time in america - great filum. Is that the De Niro one with noodles, ******-eye, patsy etc? Horrible rape scene? Saw that when i was about 14, might need to check it out. American Gangster. Not 70s or 80s but worth a watch. That is a decent film. Only saw a downloaded, poor quality copy. I honestly would not like to watch it again. I have se7en but i don't really consider it to be a gangster flick. I also thought Narc was average at best. Intersted in the other 3 though. I've heard the Long Good Friday is a classic.
Gigolo-Aunt
Slightly off topic... Just read "Donny Brasco"- the true account of what actually happened without the Hollywood liscence to do what they wanted with the story. If you enjoyed the film, you would love the book, Cosa. chester copperpot
Good film. Seen it on Sky Movies a while back and was quite impressed by it. The main character's mum in that film was AJ Johnson, who first came to my attention when she starred in House Party. Not a gangster film, but loved it nonetheless. Jarhead
I liked the Tarantino scripted Killing Zoe. Don't know if it is really classed as a gangster film but Leon is a good view. The slightly silly Things to do in Denver when your dead is worth watching just for the hitman Mr Shhh. The original Get Carter is a classic. Long Good Friday is the absolute daddy of British gangster films. The look on Hoskins face at the end......
