I had to take a diversion to get onto Drumbrae this morning, with the police blocking off 3/4 of Craigmount View.

It is a bit concerning that there has been problems at the primary school, however it is not a surprise since Somerfield was shut by the property developers and the site has been left to rot until next year.

When we had the shop open, with an 8pm closure time it made the area safer to be in.

I am now anxious to find out more details, and will make some enquiries when I get home.

This could be quite serious and will be in the evening news today

All I know is there are 2 gunshots marks in the road at the bottom of the hill and tyre marks beside them.

Police did door to door last night

Actually not what the EEN says

Apparently the local residents reported gun shots of which there are no sign/evidence they happened

Some old biddy probably heard a car backfire

The Maybury road was down to 1 lane both ways last night around 11.20pm because of a "police incident".

Police everwhere between the casino and the roundabout at East Craigs, and also a couple at the casino door.

Mayburys gone mental!

Possibly not the same though as the one on the thread though.

Just have a look at a few stories from Edinburgh in the last week. Have a look at a few names....

If you can't see it you must be ****ing stupid & blind !!

True, its a little known statistical fact that all house fires, car crashes, shootings and rapes happen on christmas day.

Valid shout. It's also dead easy to buy pubs and clubs in that part of the world.

Honestly, it's a different world down there.

I think English law is a bit more relaxed than up here. I'm no expert but the documentary would suggest that no paperwork or cash ever changes hands. Maybe it's a new fangled system and it's all done instantly over the internerd.

You may be correct, also the marriage vows seem to be more relaxed down there. The only non serial pumper seems to be Dot! Although i have heard rumours of a video of her and Max Mosley doing the rounds.

Patrick seems a lot happier now than when I last saw him in the 70s. In those days he was living next door to a racist called Eddie Booth.

Fortunately the documentary proves there is no racism in the East End and everyone gets on like a pub on fire.

Perhaps they live in a part of London governed by the Scottish Nationalist Party, seems to be the Utopian dream we are constantly promised by Fat Al and his troops. Being Oil rich would allow them to buy all the pubs and clubs??!?!?!??

Good point. It wouldn't surprise me to see the pub in the documentary renamed the "King Alex".

Just to drag this thread away from Eastenders and back onto the topic in hand.....

I saw this on the Talk 107 site...

There's been another shooting in the Lothians.

A man's been found limping through a field near Pathhead on Monday night.

He'd told his rescuer he'd been stabbed in the leg, but paramedics said it was obviously a gunshot wound.

The man's been released from hospital, but police are still trying to find out what happened to him - he's 25, black and he has his hair in cornrows.

The police are also investigating claims of gunshots in East Craigs earlier that day.

It comes a week after a man was shot in the head as he left the Maybury Casino in Edinburgh.

3 Shootings in the space of a week?
