Hey Ulysses

You got me in the Maroon camp, but I answered White!!!

Controversy!!!!

You're right. I'm Ulysses' apprentice in this competition, and it was my mistake.

So how did people decide?

- only ever going to vote maroon

- studied the individual games

- thought the lower the league, the shittier the defending so more goals

- toss of a coin.

I saw the initial sway the of maroon votes, had a hunch maroon was no way certain so went for white and a smaller number in to next round if white came in.

I chose the highly reliable scientific route, i copied the poster before me, cheers Claudia

I looked at the previous results for the season in both leagues, saw that league 2 had had more goals so far and decided to just go with that, then forgot that maroon was for League 2 and not league 1, so put the wrong thing down and got lucky!

Knowing I am pants at this thought I would try a new tactic and sneakily copied a poster who always gets things right. Needless to say I'm out at the first fence.

I went on the basis that a draw would mean white would win, as there was not a huge difference in the goals in the leagues.

No probs, by the way.

Don't worry, we'll fix it.

Sorry if people got caught out with the first challenge. If you think Friday night isn't part of the weekend maybe you ought to get out more. :cheese:

To be fair Uly should have sent a PM reminding us about this. Not good enough.

Not a hope, big boy. :ninja:

Remind me how much the competition entry fee was again? :cheese:

Second elimination round challenge

This challenge is only open to the 88 players who progressed from the first round.

Europe and the United States of America compete for the Ryder Cup this weekend, and the singles matches are scheduled to be played on Sunday, 28 September.

Here's the challenge:

Maroon: Europe will win more points than the USA in the singles matches.

White: Europe will NOT win more points than the USA in the singles matches.

Notes:

There are 12 singles games scheduled to be played. The challenge applies to all singles games that are completed and count towards the final score in the match, irrespective of when they are played.

For the avoidance of doubt, if Europe win more points from the singles than the USA, Maroon will win. If the teams are tied or the USA win more points from the singles, White will win.

Choose Maroon or White and post on this thread. The deadline for entries is Friday, 26 September at 9 pm UK time.
