Angry Haggis Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Watched True Detective in the last two nights. Fantastic TV. A master class in acting - cant praise it enough. True Detective is excellent telly. Looking forward to Fargo, starts Sunday night on Ch4. Quote

Gigolo-Aunt Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 True Detective is excellent telly. Looking forward to Fargo, starts Sunday night on Ch4. The Guardian gave it favourable reviews during the week - will keep an eye out for it. Quote
N User Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I've been watching Warehouse 13 recently. It's not very serious but easy watching that reminds me of x-files with the tone of Stargate. Quote
Gigolo-Aunt Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Watched the first couple of trailer park boys - it was okay - maybe something I will need to stick with. Quote

Tommy Wiseau Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Deadwood Carnivale The Shield The first series of Dexter (Then stop) I can't recommend Deadwood enough. Fantastic stuff. Yep, at its best the best series ever made IMO. Such a shame it never got finished properly, as I think had it gone down the road Milch had intended, it would have been widely considered as better than the likes of the Wire. Quote
moogsy Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Deadwood Carnivale The Shield The first series of Dexter (Then stop) I can't recommend Deadwood enough. Fantastic stuff. I still haven't got over the fact that Carnivale was cancelled. Absolutely gutting to the point where I kind of wish I hand't started watching it in the first place Quote
Riddley Walker Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Generation Kill (can't believe nobody has mentioned it) The Returned- creepy French horror series being remade into an American version but if you're cool as **** you'll watch the French one. True Detective is incredible TV. Deadwood House of Cards Quote
Riddley Walker Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Also The Americans was pretty solid. 2nd series is almost done but I've only seen the 1st. It's about 2 Russian spies and their undercover life in the US. Guy looks like David Duchovny and the girl looks like a tidy Russian. Quote
Rudolf's Mate Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 The Good Wife Loads of others mentioned which are top drawer however the Mrs wanted to watch this and I was reluctant. Have to admit that its brilliant. Quote
Chester™ Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Loads of others mentioned which are top drawer however the Mrs wanted to watch this and I was reluctant. Have to admit that its brilliant. I was exactly the same. Missed most of the first series and been hooked since I started watching it. Quote
Peebo Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Generation Kill (can't believe nobody has mentioned it) To be fair, it's been mentioned a few times on ye numerous other threads like this over the years! Since there is a console game sub-forum, could be worth having one for TV programmes. Quote
Rudolf's Mate Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I was exactly the same. Missed most of the first series and been hooked since I started watching it. Watching 2-3 a night! Decided not to watch Game of Thrones new series until I'm through it so I can watch several back to back. I'll echo what others have said in that True Detective is one of the best things I've seen on telly. My favourite current programme is Hannibal. Quote

Inspector Villiers Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Caught an episode of Hornblower on ITV4, A bit like sharpe, I might give this a go. Quote
Inspector Villiers Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 The girlfriend's been watching 'The Good wife' on Netflix and I've caught a few of them. I was surprised at how good it is. A smart legal drama, seems a bit west-wingy to me. Quote
Zico Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Yep, at its best the best series ever made IMO. Such a shame it never got finished properly, as I think had it gone down the road Milch had intended, it would have been widely considered as better than the likes of the Wire. Deadwood is absolutely brilliant. They only made three fifths of it and the only TV series I've seen that are better are The Wire and The Sopranos. Lots of great shows mentioned so far but haven't seen Six Feet Under, Community, Peep Show, The Thick Of It or Louie mentioned yet. All of which are excellent. Quote
weststand93 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Weststand dude, for a 21 year old lad you watch a heck of a lot of telly. Haha I have over 170 shows to watch on my PC. I'm just working my way Quote
