Commentator saying how impressive it is for a Welsh kid in the team who has played u18s level for Bristol City - McKirdy & Jones are regulars for Hearts u20s team

Game is not great so far, weather is torren, lashing it down

The conditions.

Britain has a hard enough time producing decent players without them trying to develop in that weather.

Nicely worked goal for Scotland, with McKirdy linking up two or three times down the left before feeding Coote and a great dinked chip for O'Hara to score

Disappointing to lose a goal at that point given that Scotland were enjoying their best spell of the game.

Scotland certainly didn't deserve to lose the game on the overall performance, so the stoppage time equaliser was a fair reward.

Their final game is against England at Starks Park on 29th November.

The SFA's web site has archives going back to 2002, but they are a bit sketchy in the first few years.

I have been compiling records of Hearts players involvement since the Academy opened in 2004, so I do have some information (sometimes teams sometimes squads)

My first record is the 2004 game v Northern Ireland

01 October 2004 U16 Scotland 2-2 Northern Ireland

http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_fa_news.cfm?page=2986&newsCategoryID=39&newsID=1360

Scotland: Greg Paterson, Ross Hamilton, Mark McCusker (Maguire, '49), Cameron Murray, William McLachlan, Kris Paterson, David Goodwillie, Jamie Laird, James Henry (O'Hara, '56), Ross Hepburn, Mark Staunton

Those in bold played for Hearts.

It's the law of increasing returns. :uhoh2: You may get 2 at U16, 3 at U17, 4 at U18, 5 at U19 etc.

A number of U16s may end up playing at lower levels than the SPL, e.g. Mark McCusker ended up playing for Clyde, QOTS, Albion Rovers and Dumbarton
