I can never pick one song when asked this question, these are my three favourites though :

Sometimes (I Wish) by City and Colour

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jF0TfuITLM

23 by Jimmy Eat World

The Impression That I Get by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7A8Mkg1qYQ

Even just getting it down to three is pretty damn hard!

Got to be one of the hardest questions ever, been asked it a few times and never narrowed it down to 1, but have to say i had forgot how good that Mighty Mighty Bosstones track was.

In my '60s top 3 and probably all time top 10.

I was speaking recently with Mick Avory (Kinks drummer) who says they are going back in the studio and should be touring later in the year.

Anyway, my all-time best song is a straight duel between The Who - 5:15 and Bruce Springsteen - Badlands.

Ask again in a week's time and it will be different

Forgotten about that one.......pretty good choice imho.

One song I never tire of listening to is Shalamar's "Uptown Festival".

Been on my turntable for almost 30 years, still sounding fresh.

I'm pretty sure you just post the URL mate and the board software does the fancy bit.

EDIT: The song above isn't my answer to the question, I just thought I'd post where I got my username and sig as an example/test.

Bollocks, no it did'nt just the link ,although when i previewed it the screenshot of the vid was there

That may be because it's a 'uk.youtube' URL, maybe not though, I'm just guessing.

The test I posted was just http://www.youtube.com.etc

Malcolm Tucker

I have so many, but these ones stand out above the rest I'd say.

High and Dry by Radiohead

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCPDiEz-GcE

Stop Crying Your Heart Out by Oasis

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdPpShsp5l0

And the lesser known (practically unknown) Casualty by Look See Proof

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IcnSBFgoBE

All 3, I will never tire listening to.

I think you may have to be subscribed for the board to show the clip automatically.

Edit: yup, when i quoted your post it previews the clip and not just the link.

Cheers Legend i suppose i better subscribe my ass.

This one has been at the top of or near the top of my list for a long time. a euphoric song if ever there was, by the time you reach the last minute you're ready for anything.

Brilliant song - nearly made it into my top 3 on a recent lads' music night out.

Saw it performed live about 3 years ago by Casbah Club, a band with Bruce Foxton, Bruce Watson (Big Country), Mark Brzezicki (Big Country) and Simon Townshend (Pete's brother). Foxton took the lead vocals for this and a couple of other Jam songs and it was fantastic - sounded a lot better than that youtube clip but I recognise that the sound on youtube's never that great and when I saw the band, I'd had a few pints of definitely un-watered down Stella.

Say What Again

Again, not the song I think is 'the best', but songs that will never be far away from being favourites of mine for one reason or another.

This one, if you'd asked me 15 years ago, would have definitley been my answer:

The next is just a great track which will always remind me of a 'special' time ;)

Eva Cassidy's version I like (and it's better without the video) - but for personal reasons again.
