Ten years ago today - An appreciation

1998 was perhaps the finest year in recent memory for most Hearts fans, winning the Scottish Cup for the first time since 1956.

The celebration on the 16th May that year will never be forgotten but two weeks earlier was also cause for a wee celebration.

With only two games to go, the relegation issue had still to be decided and both teams involved were due to meet.

Hibernian v Dundee Utd at Easter road, the winners would have secured top flight status and hibs, with their home advantage duly took the lead.

Unfortunately for hibs their bottle crashed. Step forward Kjell Olofsson, who slammed home a brace to win the points for the The Terrors and consign the Leithers to the first divison.

For the goals that relegated the wee team...

Kjell Olofsson - We salute you.

What a mess that pub was in. Not to mention the state of the lads from the bus.
