Marvin Posted July 22, 2012 Share Posted July 22, 2012 Correct! I work in HR and depending on the seriousness of the 'alleged' misdemeanour determines the outcome. However, if there is a possibility that the person could be dismissed following the hearing, the calling letter should state as much. Gross misconduct matters are generally always covered by this caveat in the letter calling the employee to the hearing. We also give a minimum of 7 days notice of the hearing to ensue they can access union representation if required. That' what I got sacked for after 7 days paid suspension. Even though I knew I was going to get sacked, I still had the audacity to turn up to my disciplinary in my work uniform expecting a final warning and told to get back to work Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

At least that's what I was told - and could see for myself a few days later - because I was so pished that I have no recollection of doing it.
