ROMAN ROMANOV today tried to deflect the fury of Hearts fans at the club's AGM by claiming that Scottish football is corrupt.

Around 400 fans attended the 102nd AGM in the Gorgie Suite but club owner Vladimir Romanov was conspicuous by his absence.

With only his father's representative Charlie Mann among the onlookers, Roman Romanov concluded the AGM's official business within only five minutes but faced a gruelling 60 minutes of questions from fans who are angry at the way the season has panned out.

George Hawkins was first to ask a question of Romanov as he demanded to know when a new manager would be put in place.

Performing a u-turn on comments made in January where Romanov revealed that Stephen Frail would be assistant to a new manager next season, Romanov instead asked supporters to back Frail in the long term.

He said: "The reality is that to find a manager is very difficult, most managers are already out of work or ready to jump from the clubs they are working with and seeking profit.

"If you find me a manager who won't do that then fine but give a chance to our guy Stephen Frail who is already at the club.:evilno:

"I know that votes are split but let's be fair to him."

That comment was greeted with shouts of "no" from the crowd.

The Hearts chairman tried to turn the tables on supporters who were quizzing him over their sidestep by offering them a "cheap version" of the planned new stand if they wanted to keep costs down.

The Tynecastle side are more than ?30 million in debt and will play out the final five matches of the season in the bottom six of the SPL.

The increasingly farcical scenes were added to when Romanov launched into a tirade over the way the game in this country is run.

"You can bring Milan and Carlo Ancelotti here and the player

s won't play for him in the country.

"For a very long time in this country it is a fixed league where Rangers and Celtic win by 30 points. Ask yourself how many games this year have been screwed by referees, five games is 15 points."

Romanov continually brushed off questions and asked how he planned to wipe out the club's increasing debt the clearly frustrated chairman retorted: "by selling players for ?9 million.":evilno:

That was clearly a reference to the fact that Craig Gordon's sale to Sunderland is not included in the accounts.

That will boost the coffers but when Alex Mathie, a local businessman, voiced his concern about the effect the cost of a new stand will have on the club's debt Romanov added: "I guess that there is no need to continue with this conversation.

"Maybe with the opinions of the fans here we should not build a new stand or make a cheap version.":banghead2::omg_2:

The reports I have read about the AGM and RR, make me think of times at school. Before exams I would think I have lots of time to study, and then suddenly realized the day before I hadn.t a clue. RR strikes me as someone who was briefed on what would be needed at the AGM, he obviously felt that the people he would be dealing with didn't deserve time to prepare and came in totally unprepared. It strikes me his comments about referees were straw clutching and something he vaguely remembered from somewhere. His comment about giving Frail support was made without thinking what he was actually saying, and that he was contradicting statements made on behalf of his father.

The main sign that a person is in trouble is when in such a scenario they resort to aggressive, sarcastic responses, it would appear from the reports he was in fact in serious trouble. I don't think though he has seen all the trouble for the day, when his old man gets the reports I would suspect there will be some stern counselling.

Pants Shaton

Roman Romanov is, and always has been, a lying ^^^^.

He is a vile little man with a ?2 haircut and a cheaper Matalan suit.

Romanov apologists laughed off his 'Director of football' incognito lie as a joke.

Today's AGM was proof, as if any were needed, that the joke is on Hearts of Midlothian and its loyal fans.

excellent. at least we now what we're looking for. he must be employed & unwilling to leave his present club. ideally he'll not want paid either.

Send the wee Rodney to the salt mines in darkest Russia.

Looks a bit camp to me.
