Ulysses
I've re-titled the thread to reflect what is more a general discussion about user-uploaded emoticons than about any particular example. A number of user-uploaded smiley pics have been taken off the smiley code list. The reason for that is because we don't intend them to be available as emoticons, for the time being at least. The image files haven't been removed from the server in case they are to be restored to the list. Some others have not been taken off the list. The reason for this is that we haven't reached them yet, so don't be surprised if they disappear over the coming week or two. We appreciate that members will have some comments to make about this, and we'd be interested to read them. We would also be interested in members' comments about the smileys generally, as we do seem to have a huge number compared to other forums. While we understand that some members may have negative comments, we would be grateful if members would avoid taking swipes at the admin team or each other when commenting (aside from anything else, it's a breach of the rules). Also, given that we've "de-listed" the emoticons, we'd prefer if members didn't bypass this administrative control by using another means to post them. In particular, members should avoid linking back to images stored on the JKB server. For the reasons set out above, we don't want to have to delete the image files from the server. It annoys people when things they like are taken away for no reason and without a proper explanation. see also: The Pub If it's a space issue: just get rid of the hundreds of old ones that no-one uses, I'd say there's probably only about 12 or so that anyone really wants anyway. And bring back The Pub.

Snake Plissken
Which 12 (or so)? vladstupid cornette jjyay yas verysmug greggy sob pinilla trollface That's nine, there's probably one or two others but outside that list, I don't think I really use any of them anyway. If it's about having too many, that's fair because there are but surely it would have been better to have asked the members (some of us paying members) which ones we wanted to keep before just deleting them? Smack
Kickback does seem to have the reputation of posters communicating via smileys. Maybe the powerbrokers are trying to reposition the brand upmarket, by biasing the product toward lengthy discourses and long oratories. Possibly even a boutique forum.
