The "Drop Ball"...

The only thing pish about the whole incident was Templetons pathetic excuse for a shot. Should have leathered the ball past the keeper instead of passing it back to him with the outside of his foot

Interesting to note that a similar stoppage at Rugby Park was followed by a contested drop-ball. This met with the approval of the commentators - we will soon know what the Beeb thinks, if they choose to show it.

Maybe he was scared to score and see Mr Butcher tearing across the pitch to kick the sh*t out of him. :whistling:

Football, in general is getting soft and it would seem from some of the responses that Hearts fans are soft also.

It seems to be a common belief that it is well mannered and courteous to go through the whole "No, after you" effort at a drop ball. Teams abuse it, players go down and use it to alleviate pressure. Yesterday, the drop ball was given in response to an ignored, stone wall* penalty. We continued and the Inverness players didn't. If only their high moral standards were as pronounced five minutes prior.

Football teams should NEVER allow a drop ball to be uncontested.

*only on first viewing, not seen it since.
