JKB donation news

As members know, if we have surplus funds we like to contribute money to good causes, and these are usually either Hearts-related or are charities in Scotland, particularly in Edinburgh and the Lothian Region. This is just a note to let you know of the most recent donations made by JKB (all in the last couple of weeks). One or two you might have read about already in threads posted by the recipients.

We recently contributed ?750 to the Hearts Youth Development Committee. That's one of a number of contributions we've made to HYDC since last autumn, and we're pleased to be associated with youth development at Hearts.

JKB has also made a few contributions in the last year or so to the Heart of Midlothian Education and Community Trust, and in the last couple of weeks we made a further contribution of ?750 in support of the valuable work of the Trust.

We've also just donated ?500 to the McCrae's Battalion Trust, and you'll have seen a thread posted by the Trust setting out how that money will be used. McCrae's Battalion is an important part of the history of HMFC, and we're sure members will appreciate JKB's contribution to the Trust.

We've also made three other donations that we want to bring to the notice of members.

Cancer Support Scotland provides a range of support services to cancer patients and their families and friends, and also raises funds for local support groups and services in different locations across Scotland.

Children 1st (the RSSPCC) works in Scotland to protect children from neglect and harm, help children recover from abuse, support families under stress, and promote the rights and welfare of children.

Four Square is an Edinburgh-based charity that provides support and assistance to people who are homeless and vulnerable.

JKB is pleased to support the work of these three very worthy causes in a small way by contributing ?350 to each of them.

All in all, the donations above amount to ?3,050. We'd like to thank JKB's members, particularly our subscribed members, for making these contributions possible.

Always good to give back! Well done to the team.

Can I ask if there was any thought put to a contribution to the 1914 Trust , as has been mentioned elsewhere the TEAM made the ultimate sacrifice with not all f them joining Macrae's, and as is correctly stated in the post they were a MAJOR part of a great clubs history
