jambopompey
Fecking brilliant news and it shows up the politicians and Crown Office for the bunch of useless arseholes that they are. To try and get a conviction on one uncorroborated claim by a guy who had 16,000 people shouting all around him was utter lunacy in the first place. There's no doubt that COPFS have been rail-roaded into this by the politicians but common sense should have won the day. If they'd just done him for stright-forward assualt and breach the jury would have found him guilty in 5 seconds flat. Edit: Apparently his dad is catholic and his daughter was baptised How the feck did they ever expect to get a conviction ? Useless twats. i think if that was all he was charged with he would have pleaded guilty and would have saved public money and not wasted court time

Munch
Why is he still in custody ? I cannot think of any breach of the peace term exceeding 3 months in prison -- this is being politically motivated for show. Given the verdict he should have been released immediately. It said he was remanded pending sentence which i think it said tomorrow OJ Simpsons Lawyer could not have got a better result for him, he is however banned from Tynecastle for life so away fixtures only from now on i guess for him. jambopompey
Apparently that was offered by the defence team but knocked back. just shows you how much pressure was put on them from politicians who wanted him hung out on the sectarian charge,as i said earlier on this thread if the politicians are that desperate to hang out a few fans over sectarian issues why not go for those fans who have got banning orders this season from both celtic and rangers

Not really. Because his testimony was not corroborated by anyone else the jury would not have been able to consider it as evidence. Romanov Stole My Pension
John Wilson is no doubt a complete dafty who'll have cost Hearts tens of thousands of pounds through lost ticket sales in the lower sections of Tynecastle this season, but I'm very happy with today's outcome. It was ridiculous to try to bring sectarian charges into it, and I think we all knew it was only a case of pandering to the huge furore about sectarianism just now. I hope the tims are gutted. Gizmo
An appalling decision to put a person with learning difficulties in jail for 3 months for what amounted to breach of the peace. Even worse was the unseemly foaming at the mouth of the victims and the politicians to make this some sort of show trial. I'm glad the sellik fans are seething, because maybe now the penny will finally click that they are the biggest part of the problem here, and for them to hide their own bigotry and sectarian hatred under "wur traditions" whilst simultaneously playing the victim card at each and every opportunity is NOT on. Well now would be a good time for Hearts to reiterate their view on the allocation to their filthy support, state exactly why, release photos of the damage they cause every time they visit, and the cost of rectifying the damage. Stop making it so easy for the filth to get the ear of the press all their own way Hearts!
