It will also set a precedent for future disturbance that I think we would do well to avoid. The army is trained for many things, including peacekeeping, but deploying them into a civil disturbance in their home country is not one of them. Anyone remember a little trip that the Para's had into Ireland one day way back when? Much better to let the police deal with it as they see fit, if that's horses and water cannons, or armoured cars, tear gas and rubber bullets then so be it.
