To be fair though, if they've taken his sock and boot off, there's a fair chance they'll be able to tell if it's broken by just looking at it. Its only superman has x-ray eyes!!! I know what fractures are easy to identify without x-rays. If he's fractured either malleolus, there's a good chance there may be some deformation. I examine dozens of patients every day I work at a+e and trust me, there's plenty of fractures you can diagnose with your eyes and a physical examination. Ankle fractured and wrist fractures in particular. You also made some comment about only superman having x-ray eyes. My point was that regularly, fractures can be diagnosed before an x-ray. Even if you knew it was fractured, you'd still x-ray it straight away anyway to see if required surgery. Totally agree that some fractures can be spotted without but the majority require an x ray,hence the superman point!!
