I'm sure there is an almost universal agreement on here that the decision to scrap the SPL reserve league has been, fundamentally, disastrous. It was shortsighted at best, and has had a shocking effect on the development of youth players/those returning from injury.

 

Hearts must lead the campaign for the reinstatement of the SPL Reserve League, and if that involves a fairly aggressive media campaign then so be it. I simply cannot see how anyone can justify the current situation.

 

I trust that Romanov will be raising this in " VR speaks, Part 2."

A reserves league is very important for football development and there was a crime made against Scottish football when this league was abolished.
