wavydavy
Kevin had his operation last night and has said all going well he would love to be involved against Hibs in a few weeks, all going well and he is hopefull So what made him decide that an operation was required after all? Could he not have had this done in January and been back playing now never mind hopefull of playing in the Hibs game. Still it is good news if it is the case and hopefully he has a speedy recovery. Now they have decided, on the basis presumably of medical advice. So an operation in january would have a) been possibly the worong operation may not have been required at all. An operation now, with the benefit of medical advice after the observations over the last few months may get him back to fitness. I share the furstration and that little imp keeps tellign me 'operate, operate' but there are better qualified people involved.

Because he had opertion there previous in career this had to be last case, and they were not sure where to operate, specialists had to rule out the hip and pysiotherapy and injections were used first to try and find source of pain, not really an expert but hope it helps, again hopeful but op my not be cure. My argument is based on what I believe is that he had the very same problem when he was still at Killie and if you look at his record he missed a lot of games for them after JJ signed him. I accept that there is no point in having an operation if not required but in this case I think he was just putting off the inevitable and as a result wasted a lot of time. However I am delighted that it seems he has had the op and hopefully we get back a much fitter sharper and consequently even better player. We certainly miss him of that there is no doubt. Nothing like the injury he had at Killie which kept him out, he missed 6 games through injury out of 55 approx on 2 seperate occasions too
WASTREL
I am curious how its taken 3 months to reach this decision. We must have the most incompetent medical team of any half-decent football team. If we leave it up to them then he will be lucky to be back for Christmas, never mind next season. Look what they have done with Andy Driver as another example - out for god knows how long, and didn't look anything like the player in the games he played recently. Being a cynic I would not be surprised if the immediate cost of any private treatment that was needed goes some way to explaining the delay. Cut The Crap
I wasn't particularly interested in Kyle's stats before he joined us, but I would doubt whether he's averaged 25 games a season over the course of his career. This season was never likely to be much different. Neither is next season.
