Paulie Walnut
how long was he away? (just checked...3 months) so, less than a grand a week? Im shocked. (actually,i just about am. I struggle to see why some lower level players move clubs when their salary is not huge. (yes, i appreciate it would be about ?45k, but to have to move every year or so, work on new years day, have 20000 people booing you etc) Given the alledged contract offer to webster before he left was about ?18k....that would be less than 3 weeks of his wage = witteveen's annual salary. I think the average person earns roughly ?1m in their lifetime (total salary in todays prices) so, if he is on 50k/pa, and a 15 year career, then he only gets ?750k. Im not saying he is hard done by, but some of the people who have labelled him a wage thief seem to be a bit harsh Though, this all depends on the original assumption. It could be that he was being paid ?11k a week, or that he was being paid 25% of his wages by dundee and 75% by hearts. I just dont know. Loans are usually 60/40 so if that was the case Dundee were paying ?11000 for 40% of his total wage ?11000 divided by 3 months = 3666 ?3666 div by 4 weeks = 916.5 Full wage from HMFC ?2291.25 per week This is all hypothetical of course !
