Song for 2nd April 2011

As long as Sky or ESPN do not change the date, we are due to play Hibs at Easter Road on April 2nd....that date ring a bell?!

I think we need a song that is fit for the occasion, so i suggest the following:

The lyrics are:

Let's say goodbye with a smile, dear,

Just for a while, dear, we must part.

Don't let the parting upset you,

I'll not forget you, sweetheart.

We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when,

But I know we'll meet again, some sunny day.

Keep smiling through, just like you always do,

'Til the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.

So will you please say hello to the folks that I know,

Tell them I won't be long.

They'll be happy to know that as you saw me go,

I was singing this song.

After the rain comes the rainbow,

You'll see the rain go, never fear,

We two can wait for tomorrow,

Goodbye to sorrow, my dear.

You hav 2 months to learn it!

If you're going for songs of a bygone era, how about "Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye"?

Question:

Is there any decent footage the 02/04/06 goals without that dreadful song by Seven Nation Army spoiling it?

They're likely, in the first division, to play Cowdenbeath, as well as either Raith Rovers or Dunfermline. So, a song by John Watt, famous Fife folkie might help them prepare:

"Fife's got everythin', jist the place for tourists,

see the bonnie pit bings, standin' in a row."

That'll cheer them up, surely?

Problem Officer?

If we're a similar distance ahead of 4th place then as we are now, there better be a sea of beachballs, lilo's, and sombreros on display as well.

We need to bear in mind that sometimes, only the classics will do.

"You're sh*te, and you know you are, you're sh*te, and you know you are,

you're sh*te, and you know you are, You're sh*te, and you know you are,

you're sh*te, and you know you are, (ad nauseam)."

I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but did we not beat them exactly one year later on 02/04/2007 when they were supposed to parade the wee cup? If so we MUST sing, "ONE SHOE... IF YOU HATE HIBEES!!.."

will have sombrero, shades, beach shorts and sandles on regardless of weather and it would be class if everyone else did the same. imagine the kind of scenes that occured when stephen elliott scored to make it 2-0 last time, but with a whole stand of jambos in beach gear celebrating. would be class

I appreciate that, DH, it was a wonderful, surpassed only by 16/5/98.

I just don't like the song. I would be great to know there's a five min highlights without it.

What about turning your volume down/off that would work. And then play any music or commentrary you like in the background.

The last time the hibs they won the trophy,

Noah's ark was built from wood

On the way back from town

The horse and cart broke down

And the trophy it was stolen by Robin hood!!!

My choice of song when passing any hibs fan on the walk down Easter road!!
