Celtic's Rationale and Andy Walker's comments

The common consensus throughout this thread and no doubt throughout most of Scottish football is that the Old Firm have nowhere to go. The only realistic option I would offer would be some kind of also rans Euro league featuring the likes of the OF and the top Dutch, Portugese and Scandinavian teams. With the current financial climate and the changes happening throughout football that is extremely unlikely to happen anytime soon.

So hows about the rest of us wake up and use this to our advantage. If every other club stuck together there would no longer be the pathetic appeasement of the Old Firm in every aspect of Scottish football. Unfortunately half the clubs in the SPL are as bad as the red-tops for this.

And well said the guy who brought up Hearts position were we to move down south. Its an arguement you never hear but its 100% accurate. Imagine Hearts getting 20-30 million TV money a year and playing against the likes of Torres and Van der Vaaart. Throw in how much of a draw Edinburgh would be for visiting fans (who is going to choose a trip to Glasgow ahead of it) and we would be a massive club. But of course its not considered because we understand that we are a Scottish club playing in Scottish competition. Just like it should be.

The media already ignore the rest of us.

The OF should not be allowed to operate in Scotland if they are playing in a foreign league IMO

Fair point but at the moment we feed off the scraps falling from the old firm table. If they left it would be even less.

Personally I believe they should be told to shut up and stay put - but on fairer terms - which is where Vlad could actually do the whole of scottish football a great service if he chose to pursue this during talks. Would also be good if Vlad told celtic that all they have to do is offer their resignation.....nobody is stopping them!
