Fixed for you

Providing we go through of course I wouldn't say no to a lower league game. It's surely about time.

Ayr at Tynie - Give them a heroes welcome then hammer them.

Providing we win tonight. Be very tough. Head - 1-1. Heart - 5-0.

Don't know where list came from but Queen of the South / Brechin there twice and only 15 inc their 2.

Missing are:

East Stirling / Buckie

Morton / Airdrie

Some dross like Hamilton at home will do for me.

EDIT...Assuming we win tonight.

this looks like the official draw thread then.

one year bans for the countless other 'it's ********* away' threads please mods.

Why are some people wanting home draws? They're gash.

Ross County away please.

Totally agree. An away tie against someone that isn't in the SPL would be ideal.

Buckie Thistle is my choice (should both teams win their games)

I'd be game for Queen of the South away.

I remember playing them there in the 70's, over 14,000 there and battles everywhere! We won 2-0 I think?

They are easier to win (if you have all your stands open to create an atmosphere).

Anyone wanting the Old Firm away needs their head examined - we have a horrendous record at Ibrox, and only tend to win at Parkhead when it won't really help us.

OK, if we have to chose an away draw.

Stranraer away for me. Had a great time down there with the troops a few years ago.

it's going to need an epic change in our luck to get a 'diddy' team. from 05/06 onwards we have had an incredible percentage of ties against SPL teams.

the hobos have had all the luck going over the past couple of years. completely wasted on them of course.

i was hoping for a 97/98 jammy run but we got another SPL team in the draw of 32.

this draw is a bit ruined by having a tie to play first. hopefully a rare draw against a minnow as some extra incentive for the lads.

Since 2005/2006:

Of our last 12 Scottish Cup Ties - 9 have been against SPL opposition.

The odds are quite even on us drawing an SPL team or a non-SPL team, or being home or away. Either way some people will be disappointed.

Provided we get passed St Johnstone, then definately hoping for [Threave Rovers F.C./Stenhousemuir F.C. or Stranraer F.C.] home or away.

That would then see us into the Quarter Finals and I'd happily take on whoever is left at that stage.

Save the bigger SPL teams for later in the Cup. Don't understand anyone hoping for another SPL team like Hibs at this stage.

If they manage to scrape past Ayr I want Hibs at Easter Road. Nothing better than humping them out of the Big Cup at their own midden.

To balance it up I checked Hibs cup draws for the same time period.

They've played 13 ties.

9 against SPL and 4 against lower league.

So before their lucky run of draws last season they hadn't had a lower league side since the 3rd round of 05/06.

In fairness to them they've not been getting great draws either.

Since 05/06 Celtic haved played lower league opposition eleven times in the Scottish Cup.

And that's 11 out of 16 ties.

We'll get Aberdeen, and the OF (with their warm balls) will get Threave and Buckie at home obviously.

It's Biffy doing the draw isn't it? Anyone know who they support out of interest? They surely wouldn't start agreeing to draw out warm and cold balls for the OF??

2 of them are Ayr fans and 2 are Killie I think. So depends which 2.

Disser Pointon

Ideal scenario for me is this- Hibs beat Ayr (bear with me) and then go on to dispose of both halves of the old firm in the next 2 rounds, providing a massive distraction from their continuing abysmal league for and getting their fans thinking that ?this is the year?. They then get drawn with the remaining lower league team in the semis abd get humilitaed at Hampden once again leaving us to humble Aberdeen in the final as payback for 86. You can but dream.

just the one year of jammy draws for hibs then. seemed like more somehow.

Yeah I was surprised to see that too.

Celtics record is quite staggering though.

11 out of 16 against lower league.

Astonishing really, even more-so considering they've not won it since 2007.

It's a nice dream, but how do we get to a situation where we play the sheep in the final, if the docksiders get pumped from a lower league team in the semis?
