Alan_R
Van Der Sar was at one time probably the best keeper in the world. If we are talking about currently though he is probably past his best.

Dr. Sheldon Cooper
In no particular order: Joe Hart, Craig Gordon, Pepe Reina, Petr Cech and Shay Given. It amazes me that two of the best goalies in the league are at Man City and arguably, the better of the two doesn't even play.

Mr Romanov Saviour of HMFC
Van Der Sar Reina Cech Friedel Hart Cech is rapidly dropping down the list while Hart is rising all the time. Van Der Sar is still the master. Reina has the best distribution of any keeper I can think of.

Exactly... It's ludicrous to put him anywhere near it considering he can't get a game over Mignola ATM. As good as he was for us he's not been half the keeper at Sunderland because of injuries and a horrific defence.

Malcolm Tucker
Explain to me how Cech is better than these 2... Seriously? Like genuinely, I think you are a wind-up sometimes, other times just thick as shit. No offence like. Petr Cech has won tournaments, and is probably one of the best goalies in Europe let alone the Premiership. Friedel is about 40, and is not as good as he was IMO. Schwarzer

His form has been dipping from it's peak of about 3-4 years ago, yes. But would you genuinely say that Friedel and especially Schwarzer are better?! Never in a million years I'm afraid. Thanks for trying, though.
BigAlim
Cech doesn't really do anything special imo. 1. Given 2. Hart 3. Gordon 4. Howard 5. Mucha
Debut 4
1. Van der Sar(very rarely makes high profile blunders aside from just being a great goalie) 2. Reina. 3. Cech 4. Given 5. Gordon(bias? maybe, but in all honesty, going by last seasons reports and what we all saw from highlights etc..he saved Sunderland many times in the fashion we know he can and i can`t recall any blunders. Faultless handling again and a strong character who, i have no doubt, could perform at a bigger club....puts him above Hart because he`s proven consistent)
