Bert Le Clos
A bit of a random thread, but I see Bayern are claiming compensation from the Dutch FA for Robbens injury which will rule him out for the next 2 months. The Dutch doctor said his hamstring was healed so he was fit to play. The Bayern doctor said there was no way he could have recovered fully from the origional injury. Both have said what everyone expected them to say, Holland want their best players in the biggest games, and Bayern want their best players avilable for the start of the new season. Given what happens constantly with the OF, and especially Man U in England where the club says the player is unavailable to play for country due to injury but then plays the next week, does no-one else think it would be wise for FIFA to set up an impartial group of doctors/physios to assess players' fitness ahead of intenationals? This way the Robben situation would be avoided, as he probably wouldn't have played. But also international teams would have arguably their best 22 playrs available at all times.
