However, there is a specialist laptop repair place just off Princes Street who will check it out for ?30 ( or so ). They looked at my daughters and said it would cost too much to repair but as they valued it at ?40 for spares ( including the cable ) I walked away with a tenner. Seemed reasonable to me. You had better be quick and throw any other computers you have in a bath full of hot water to contain the virus. Will this fix your problem? If you can do that, follow the instructions here: http://www.tunexp.com/tips/maintain_your_computer/disabling_blue_screen_of_death_auto-reboot/ Then restart the machine and see what error code you get when the machine blue screens.
