Cant be arsed with it to be honest so it'll be the in-laws round for dinner, then the missus going to her pals house to see the new year in and me surfing the net for hard core pornography. Just a normal day like any other

I'm off to the pub very shortly. I've been invited to an 18th which is upstairs in the pub I'm going to. Probably get home at some point tommorrow. I'm hoping to be home and bedded by no later than 6.00am.

Was invited out last night, but with snow coming decided to decline the offer. As far as tonight, very quiet, will have a late lunch, then delay dinner until later. Open a bottle of wine, have a few snackies, sit by the fire and talk, mainly about the past, some of the future, see the year in and off to bed.

I am definitely getting old, totally paranoid about going anywhere that I have to drive, and worry about the many road blocks by police. Now with the snow have to worry about the idiots driving like they have somewhere to go.

Don't go to any of the neighbours because they are all old and just talk about the past and their ailments, most have bad memories and forget what they said two paragraphs earlier about talking about the past.

Thats what old people do, it just occurred to me how soon it will happen to fifties babies :fam13:. Now if you were depressed before that should really do it. Don.t worry Dave believe me you have the best years yet to come. Kids grown up, grandkids arriving, you can pack up and go whenever you want. I am sure you know what I was saying was light hearted, my wife and I have quiet New Years by choice, it certainly isn't a life style everybody has to adopt:thumb:

Too old and cold to go out now, sit watching telly and drinking.

Champagne in the fridge for the bells :fam13:

Might nip across to Tynecastle just after 12 climb the fence and first foot Tynecastle for us all.

My local with a few friends then a house party.

i believe my invitation must have been misplaced?

i'll be doddering about locally myself. i can think of no worse fate than to be up town at that street party / voluntary cryogenic freezing experiment.

don't generally rate hogmanay any more. it's just another night out if you're going out. don't see the need to particularly celebrate the passing of a single day in time.

each to their own.

Been invited by one of my students to have dinner at her house with her family (i.e., parents, grandparents, wave of aunts, uncles and cousins). I will hopefully be on the train home by 12.30.

I can't be bothered with New Year and 2009 has not been the best year in my life.

I wonder if Bob Sharp would swap his age for my 27 years?

Not a chance been there done that don't really want to do it again. I have reached the point where I am extremely satisfied with the life I have and have had, and always look forward to tomorrow. Feel great, look magnificent, and looking forward to my old age.

Really enjoyed a very quiet Christmas with the family so we decided just to do it again and stay in for this new year. Too many cops around too. 3 hours ahead here so 15 minutes to the bells, just got the kids off to bed after several hours of wii action and the wife is already sitting watching TV in her new lingerie. :thumb: Looks like she'll be getting some wee action too soon. :embarassed: Happy New Year to you all, here's to a good 2010 both personally and for the Hearts.

P.S. Still on my first drink - shocker.
