Jeff Lynne is a great songwriter and a very, very good producer and the ELO sound was fantastic.

Same for many folks mate.

For what its worth my fave punk band is SLF. Great songwriters.

Different from Rush, but quality anyway.

Although I think it's fair to say that he'll be prouder of his collaborations with Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers than the one with Olivia Newton John.

 

 

And if he isn't then he deserves a slap

Indeed. Most of Tom Petty's best stuff came with Jeff Lynne writing and/or producing.

 

His work with the Traveling Wilbury's was great too. The album Vol. 1 is a great listen. :2thumbsup:
