Disser Pointon
Two points; 1.We defended them far better last night. I was bewildered at how inept we were in the first 3 games of the season considering the size of our defense, we looked like losing a goal every time the oposing team had a set piece. 2.Craig Thomson delivered more dangerous dead balls in one game last night than our players managed all of last season, we were p**s poor at corners and free kicks all last year. I though this was just as impressive as his defensive display and another reason that the lad deserves to keep his place. He will probably suffer from some inconsistency as most youngsters do but maybe not you never know (and he cant be much more inconsistent than playing a midfielder there!) Well done young craig What I saw from TV he was exellent. Strange tho, how csaba doesn't really givre the youth a chance, unless told to by VR
alex plode
Looked alot more dangerous from set pieces last night and almost scored twice from good Thomson crosses. The first one when Stewart hit the bar then the Bouzid header in the 2nd half.
jambo mark
craig thomson was the designated set piece taker last night he has a reputation amongst the youth and reserves as a specialist
Hagar the Horrible
This might sound daft, or a bit of an oxymoron , but he delivers the ball with his right foot the same way as a left footed player does only in reverse, a sort of right footed Davie Cooper. Left footed players always seem to be better a cross balls.
Phage
As long as he can keep whipping in a decent set piece he'll be adding something to the team. Don't rate Eggy at right back. So I hope he keeps his place as he deserves at the moment.
Teato
why when we defend a set piece do we always seem to have all 11 players within the 18 yard box. Why do we not put someone about 25 yards out such as suso who has the ability to run at people when he has the ball. I realise that in the second half last night on a couple of occasions we had a player out there but not often enough. Too often if we head the ball away it goes straight back to the opposition. Surely this is just common sense!
mintmyster
.....and we had a capable goalkeeper, not that imposter Kello.
Disser Pointon
.....and we had a capable goalkeeper, not that imposter Kello. Very harsh IMO, nothing between Janos and Kello although Janos did have a good game last night.
