Mazda_RX7.jpg

Light (1260kg) + powerful (307bhp) = :10900: :10900:

oh, and as it's registered as a 1300cc cheap on tax too!

Those things are immense, tip of the hat for such a fine beast!

And cheap tax thanks to the "rotary" engine aye (as it's otherwise known) ;)

Mazda RX-8. Good fun although guzzles oil.

Whats your MPG in one of those? I get around 28 around town in my ST and i used to get around 45 in my old clio. It's quite disheartening, you can actually see the fuel needle going down! :57:

Guy i know has a pure blacked out RX-8, totally minted.

Puma Black for me, i do 3000 miles per year max and it does the job well.

On a different but related note i saw a interesting reg plate yesterday on a black people carrier type thing, it read "J ROBBO X". When it started to park up in front of me i took the opportunity to check out the driver but she definately was not the fat striker i expected to see driving. Anyone know if that plate belongs to the legend?

Don't have the windows tinted yet but on the list. Only colour to get it in is black.

They don't do MPG over here but judge it by litres to 100km and it takes about 11 litres for that. Depends how you drive it though.

Welcome to my world!! Mine goes through about a litre every week or so

The 13b-REW engine in mine is essentially the same as the RENESIS in the RX-8 except i've got twin-turbos. Typically I get 12-16mpg driving about town, about 24mg on motorways, and <8mpg when going for it!

Wouldn't change it for the world though! ;)

Sold my Focus 2.0LTR TDCI Sport last week, so am using the wife's Ford Ka until my new arrival comes.

Not made my mind up on what I'm getting next. Wife says practical, head says 2 seats and over 200 BHP.

That's horrendous. Although anyone who can afford an RX-8 probably doesn't have to worry about MPG too much.

Pug 207 GTI 175BHP model ---- It's pretty nippy of the mark

0-60 in 6secs and 145 top speed (not that i would do that)

Only had it a couple of months and really like it.

only my second car - old one was 1.6 Focus zetec. Was a great wee motor, never let me down but was getting on a bit

Thought that at the time mate, you must have only been doing 90 between Milton Road and Dudddingston Road to cut down to Portobello high street.

Hear it's bacon butties at the night time reception.

Magic:10900:

TBH, i just use mine as a weekend toy and the occasional trip to work when I can't be @rsed with the bus. Always good for a blast home on the M74 and A701 back to Edinburgh though!

Bert Le Clos

Skoda Fabia vRS

Not the best looking and the badge doesn't have much street cred but it's fast enough to surprise a few BMW's on the bypass and because it's a diesel it hardly costs a thing to insure.

I P Knightley
A beautiful Maroon Alfa Romeo GTV. :10900:

2 litre or V6?

Either way, there's no need to wrote "beautiful" when you're talking about Alfas!

Honda CRV 2.2 diesel sport easy get 47mpg and its comfy and plenty of room for the dog.

My last but one car was the Honda F-RV with that engine in it. I usually get good MPG on a car but it was a struggle with that to get above 42-44 on a long run.

Replaced it for a short while with a (maroon) Vauxhall Insignificant diesel wagon which was getting over 52 on the same type of journeys. Not a particularly inspring car, though.

Mini one, red with white stripes! first car and I love it! have to admit i do have the wee hearts scarf in the back window! tacky i no.. but has to be done! :stuart:

Absolutely nothing wrong with that. A fine car for a young lass.

Not made my mind up on what I'm getting next. Wife says practical, head says 2 seats and over 200 BHP.

In a similar position.

Wife says "mwahwahmmehhmmehhmmehhgrbblegrrp" (I dunno, really, some noise or other which I'm sure wouldn't make sense even if I tried to pay attention)

Head says family car like a Ford S-Max.

Heart says family car like a 210bhp diesel Alfa 159 Sportwagon. In maroon.

You think the ST is slow? Mines goes like sh*t off a shovel. What car did you have before?

Maybe not "slow" - but before i had a 352bhp Evo, and before than a 320bhp M3 lol...... so its not quite in that league.

Good fun car though - it does exactly what i wanted it to do!

my first car was 95 ford escort 1.3l. it was a lemon.

i swapped it for a new mini cooper in 2003 and i loved it to bits.

someone waved a magic wand and turned the mini into a vauxhall vivaro overnight. the van drove better than the escort did!

my van turned into a clio and its ok. nothing startling, it gets me to work and back in relative comfort and safety. i call it Tank, i've never named a car before

Yes hmm i see what your saying. The ST is lighter though, Evo is a heavy car and so is the M3. Mines could keep up with most things on the road i bet!

It's not boosted. Maybe not long haul, from a standard start tho (not that i race mine really) its fast. I'm talking about lbs/bhp, i reckon the ST is high enough to be competitive.

Suzuki Swift Sport. Great wee warm hatch that peshes on the Mini and is cheaper by a mile. Unfortunately it has a wheel size that no other car on the planet has so is a nightmare getting replacement tyres.SuzukiSwiftSport.jpg

That's what I drive - great wee car! Also, going oversize on the tyre width (205's instead of the 195's) is no problem at all and much, much less expensive.

Me to, Clio 182 in blue. Amazing fun. But been threatening to sell it for a while. Its time to leave behind boy racer-ish hot hatches!

Fancying an SLK 350 next.........

Mate, I saw your car for sale on SVAG (my username's Jam Dub). Looked alright, I quite fancied it but need to get my own 8V GTI in order (and a bigger driveway) before I start buying more cars :stuart: Is that an R1 (I think) you've got yourself as well or a mate's? I'm going to sell my 125 and do my full bike licence pretty soon. After that I really like the look of the Suzuki SV650. Saw one in Alloa last week and couldn't stop drooling.

Really? That sounded to good to be true, not really heard much about them so had a wee look according to various sites it's 7.1 secs to 60, still no slouch but not quite a 6 second motor.

Lada Samara. Beat that, :10900:

Gears are up-side down from previous owners engine change, max speed about 50 kmph, no idea what speed it is actually doing as the speed needle wobbles around, spend about 10 minutes trying to find reverse, suspension welded back together with the help of a piece of wood and and my uncles home made welding kit.... i need a miricle for it to pass its MOT in september:nah:
