Bank charges _ when can you claim?

I've stated clear facts and it seems i know far, far more about it than you.

The bank can refuse to pay the D/D, it's entirely discretionary. I'm sure you're not stupid and realise that, by honouring it, they're acrtually doing you a favour? You say it's 'none of their business' if you're charged by the third party. Well, i can assure you it is when you're getting a mouthful for it.

You've clearly misunderstood the Direct Debit Agreement, and now you've brought up the fact that i am 19 years old. Brownie points all 'round! :mw_rolleyes:

:arf::arf:

I have seen your bebo and know everything about you, where as you know nothing about me. ;)

Very good. You are right as always of course I have no clue. As most 19 year olds are. Or are you 20 yet? :oopsoops:

Why don't the bank refuse to pay the D/D if you don't have funds?

It is none of their business if you are charged by the other party, or what your credit rating is.

They only do it to make money for themselves.

Why does his age matter?

Citizen Smith alert

As for "taking the hit", why should they be penalised if individuals are at the lash and/or cannot manage a simple bank account properly?

Do what I do. Don't break the rules and you won't get charged. It then becomes a non issue.

Haw haw haw, like that. ;)

They should take the hit as they are a shower of conniving, morally bankrupt, cocaine addled tubes who deserve everything they get. As an aside I laugh in the face of any argument that suggests banks should become rich of the back of those who mismanage their finances (go tell it to Citibank, Northern Rock etc ad nauseum).

I speak as somebody who has never incurred a bank charge (occasional credit card hit for late payment but what the hey, I've lived with it).

Obviously you've not lived with it. You are suffering from chronic bitter man syndrome.

But when a customer is taking the pish out of the bank, and entering unauthorised overdrafts (An overdraft is a form of borrowing, and isn't your money in the first place so you should be punished for going over the limit, just as you would if you failed to keep up with payments on your Loan) then they must be penalised for doing so.

That works both ways. Banks do this with customers money every day. It is how banking working. Fractional reserve banking. ;)

As for the charges I actually agree people should stop whinging. They are the rules. Maybe they are not fair but people sign up for them. I hope they just lower the charges and don't punish us lot that can look after our money by introducing fees.

By "they", who exactly do you mean? Anybody who works for a bank? Shareholders of banks? I don't think you'd dare to make grossly offensive comments like that to the face of many people that fall into either of those categories, so do us a favour and don't make them here.

You've seen my Bebo? Hardly a surprise considering i posted it on here a few weeks back. I have no desire to know anything about you whatsoever i'm afraid, mate.

Back to the topic, i hope i've helped in your understanding of the Direct Debit Agreement, and i wish you luck in your crusade against the big bad Banks. Alternatively, if you wish me to review your finances, and see if i can save you money on your existing borrowing, just PM me and we'll sort something out.

Cheers!

If I did need advice, I would PM Therapist. He seems much more experienced in customer management and life skills.

It seems he (She?) is obsessed with me, yet i have no clue who he is. Note that i have no desire to find out either.

Although he seems to think that we've had an ongoing dispute for several years, of which i have no knowledge of?

Strange goings-on!

As I say he knows nothing about me, but he felt it was fair game to come on and have a dig at me in this thread.

Yes I mean the clerk who sits at a desk at bank branches throughout the UK and the deveoped world. I can't stand them, every waking moment I am consumed with such a bitter feeling towards them that it twists my stomach, I can't sleep, I can't eat it drives me mad. Or not. What do you think?

Jeez. I can't imagine the clerks are the ones pocketing the fees. The shareholders however.....

Maybe I was referring to the city types. In fact I was, can I make that clear here.

I believe it's the senior managers in the investment banking, fund management and securities services areas who benefit most from the fees. Just what I've heard like.

To be fair that could be applied to half this countries population. I don't reckon Bankers have a monopoly on the cocaine addled tosser stereotype !!

If you want to get angry at banking I suggest you google 'money masters'. Long video that explains banking in detail. Very interesting, and frustrating at the same time !!

Not got the time or inclination I'm afraid CC, I prefer to hate anybody connected with banks in a kneejerk kind of way, right down to the clerks.

I would agree with Mr McLaren, a little harsh !!

To be fair to 90% of people working in Banks they have little idea of most of the dodginess that goes on. They are simply doing a job to earn a crust.

As for those in positions of power in banks, or Governments....Well I think your hatred is quite justified. ;)
