jambojim52
Well as it stands Hibs are 10 points off the bottom and 11 points behind us. Now with one game to go, I like those figures and hope they remain the same, or with luck increase our gap. Could also mean that Murderwell have more points than the hobbos. Now that's not fair they cry! Because Murderwell are playing poorer opponents. TRUE, but with the fair play points to go for Murderwell haven't broken sweat!! Chaps
just shows how much the league spilt is a farce motherwell could end up finishing on more points than hibs but still finish below them
Mouse
just shows how much the league spilt is a farce motherwell could end up finishing on more points than hibs but still finish below them imo the split has worked this season as nearly every game has been important, it would be nice for Murderwell to finish on more points than the hobos the wee team are in there rightful place, long may this continue especially under that fat Finnish clown
number16
just a thought, but if hibs and motherwell had ended up on opposite sides of the split could we be looking at hibs in a better position for the fair play place than motherwell? surely hibs playing more difficult and argueably more important games means they will pick up more cards, if this is the case then surely the split can't be compatible with this method of allocating european places either. jlo2
just shows how much the league spilt is a farce motherwell could end up finishing on more points than hibs but still finish below them It happens more often than not that the team finishing seventh has more points that the one in sixth place. In 2005-6, Inverness (7th) finished on 58 points, more than Hibs (56 pts), Killie (55 pts) and Aberdeen (54 pts) who were in 4th, 5th and 6th places. In 2002-3, Hibs (51 pts) and Aberdeen (49 pts) in seventh and eighth had more points than Dunfermline (46 pts) and Dundee (44 pts) in fifth and sixth places. It is hardly a major surprise to find team playing the likes of Falkirk, St Mirren, Inverness will gain more points post split than those playing Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, etc.

As usual the split guaranteed that some teams had nothing to play for - htis year Hibs and Motherwell.
