Did you mind the Hearts players referring to the head coach as 'shaggy'?

It's quite funny looking back now.

People getting all up in arms about the players referring to Steve Frail as 'shaggy'.

I have to admit that I was one of them.

I absolutely hated it.

IMO, that one little 'nickname' typified all that was wrong with the playing side of Hearts at the time.

i was more concerned with 'shaggy' himself. he was never the right man for the job and was basically just a janitor. he seemed to know it himself.

he did ok but didn't excite the imagination like csaba can.

I think the 'Shaggy' term was a metaphor for everything that was wrong with Hearts in 07/08.

In fairness to Frail, the job was foisted upon him and he'd been known to the players as 'Shaggy' before. He wasn't the type of character to lay down the law and (for better or worse) he did his best for the club. I was as glad as anyone that he didn't get the gig permanently but I don't understand the bile directed towards him (not talking about any posts on this thread btw)
