Now it's mentioned that these two clubs are interested, it's likely to trigger a reaction from other bigger clubs which will also result in a hefty transfer fee. Let's not kid ourselves, he's going to move on at one point. Such speculation can only boost his confidence which benefits us in the short term. He probably knows Berra is one of the favourites to go in January so will want to get as much money as possible, and by using the names of Man UTD and Chelsea as being interested (whether true or not) it will bump his price up considerably, especially if the likes of Fulham still want him, if they think they can get in early enough and snatch berra with a 5million offer and beat Man UTD and Chelsea to sign him, it coud start a bidding war as well between other clubs.
