Only 4 days til we travel to the states Hotels and stuff is all booked now, but am still interested in suggestions on where to go in our chosen destinations! The route is... Depends what floats your boat but ... Philly ... 2 nights - A run up the Rocky steps Washington D.C. half day - you might squeeze Arlington in with W/House, Lincoln Memorial/Vietnam Memorial West Virginia area ...1 night (random night stop) Loretto, Kentucky, few hours (makers mark!!!) Louisville, Kentucky...1 night St Louis...2 nights (Bud factory, arch and Cards game) Oklahoma...1 night Amarillo...1 night (palo duro canyon possibly) Albuquerque...1 night (via Roswell) Phoenix...1 night (drive to flagstaff via sedona and montezuma's castle) Flagstaff...1 night (grand canyon) Vegas...3 nights (hoover dam en route) - Don't miss old Vegas (quite a different vibe). Hit Vegas over weekend if possible. Diego...2 nights - The zoo ain't bad LA...2 nights - Check out the Hollywood Bowl (we walked right onto the stage during the day - you can stand where the Beatles and many other famous acts strutted their stuff). The Venice freak show. Disney...2 nights San Fran...3 nights (alcatraz) - Unless you have it booked you might have problems, other wise take in the longer tour (along with Angel Island); GGB from the other side, the John Muir side; the Castro district is err, quite interesting too - definitely worth a couple of hours irrespective of your sexual persuasion. Plenty to see & do. Any more suggestion greatly appreciated! above in red.

I'm off to work in Philly tomorrow. Meant to be a great town, never really spent much time there though. Grand Canyon, Vegas and San Fran are all quality. If you can, hit a random little town I think called Selignan?? on rte 66 in Arizona, just off the main highway. Strange strange little place but I had a quality time roadtripping the West Coast
