Stuart Lyon
Have all the mobile companies gone to 18 month contracts or are there any that still offer 12 months?
Gershwin
There are a few. You just need to hunt for them. And you usually pay a little more per month. Phone up and negotiate. Or go for one of the simplicity packages where you only have to give a month's notice.
Boof
In general...is it better to phone and speak to a real person or do you get a better deal online? My instinct would be to speak to a human who had authority to give you exactly what you want...any ideas?

Sexton Hardcastle
Mine just came to an end and i had to get an 18 months ( prev 12 month). It does work out cheaper and you can have any choice of phone. not very many ncie ones around at the mo so i went for a lower spec better looking nokia. I think after a year of the contract you can upgrade your phone if a new phone that u fancy becomes available. ?35 a month. 600 mins, unlimited txts and unlimited internet. Got ?80 for old phone on ebay as well so that always helps.
Stupid Sexy Flanders
I've got a 12-month contract with 3, for ?25 a month I get something like 600 minutes and unlimited texts. That was a renewal of my old contract though so I don't know if new customers would get the same deal. One to check out though.
