Celtic fans hospitality at Tynecastle.

A far better idea than sticking them in with the home fans, although it cuts down on the chance of lamping 1 of them in the gub:mad::eek:;)

A complimentary bar, the buckfast flowing and sellick fans being sneaked past the jambo's, potential recipe for disaster...

The poor sales in the Gorgie Suite have brought this on, Rangers fans are also being invited to 'cough' their ?99.

We'll be giving them back the full Roseburn Stand next.

We obviously aren't selling the corporate packages to our own fans.

Good idea imo.

More clubs should offer this for visiting support. (i've had a few dodgy moments in hospitality at Ibrox and Falkirk)

Aw no,Im going for my Birthday.

If Id wanted to be surrounded by them stuffing their fat faces with chips whilst signing about a tatty famine id have went to The International Bar.

Half their support will refuse to take the soup anyway

Certainly explains some of this - but the empty seats in the stands speak for themselves.

Apparantly Hearts have contacted Celtic to advise that on the fish course menu,The Scottish migratory fish will be replaced by Sole

Have you seen section A this season? A massive gap where the hospitality suits used to be. The credit crunch/poor performances have hit that side of the business badly.

I was wondering how long it would take for one of the usual suspects to put a negative slant on it.

Based on supposition of course.

But don't let that get in the way of creating something negative out of it.

IIRC the Gorgie Suite was struggling last season also.

The club trying to make some cash?

Sounds positive to me.

By your logic trying to make cash out of the opposition means we are struggling (with no real proof).

Therefore ideally, we should NOT be trying to make money out of the opposition, to prove we are financially well off?

No club will EVER be in this position where it decides to stop trying to make money.

Therefore this is not a negative story, its just the club announcing a new move to try and make MORE money.

Thats a good thing.

The only problem that I can see is keeping these people separated from our own supporters. I had the "privilege" of attending Celtic Park (incognito) a few seasons ago on a Corporate package arranged by a business contact of mine and I would have to say that a fair few of the people I saw that day were simply vermin in suits.

This is market driven and little to do with Hearts.

However I would have tried to sell reduced packages to Hearts fans first.

Bear in mind the game will most likely be moved to a Sunday which makes it les attractive

The game is being played on Sunday 2 November CK.

I tend to agree with you, I would have preferred if reduced cost packages had been offered to try and attract Hearts fans. However I understand the business aspect of it, money is money, no matter whose pocket it is coming out of. What irks me is the use of the words Celtic and hospitality in the same sentence, it sticks in the throat having to be hospitable to that bunch of low life s h y t e bags. If it had been advertised as a "soup kitchen for the Plastic Paddys" it would have been much more acceptable.

If we weren't struggling to sell the packages to Hearts fans then it's safe to assume this deal would never have been offered.

Having to sell corporate packages, normally aimed at Hearts fans, to oppostition fans is not a good thing.

No matter how you try and dress it up.

If the opposition fans were getting offered something at the expense of Hearts fans, i might agree with you.

Once again it seems the club is suggesting something low cost that might make the club some cash, a cheap added extra, nothing more, but a few people can only see it as a bad thing.

It's not a bad thing them trying to make money.

But it's certainly a bad thing that we cannot sell these packages to our own.

It coincides with a drop in attendences also.

The club are going to struggle to sell hospitality packages to the 'hardcore' home support though. Some hardcore fans maybe treat themselves to a corporate day once in a while, maybe once a season at the most. We don't have a huge hardcore support to match the old firm and on that basis it won't take long to exhaust that market.

Surely the more successful Hearts are on the pitch, the more corporate hospitality will sell. These customers are not necessairly Hearts fans, but people wishing to entertain clients. When was Tynecastle last a consistently entertaining afternoon out? Hence, no sale just now.

I'm therefore all for sharing hospitality with visiting supporters.

Pre-vlad, 12,000ish is what we would have expected for an Inverness match. In many ways I would rather share my Saturdays with 12,000 like minded Jambo's, as opposed to full house where 3,000ish additional glory hunters turn up expecting us to win by 3, then berrate the team when we don't.

Saying that though, if we are serious about moving up to the next level than our marketing guys need to get creative to get bums-on-seats.

Its simpy supply and demand. If Hearts are selling tickets direct to sellick /rankgers fans then I see no reason to not try to cash in and offer hospitality packages too.

Good move on the corporate front by Hearts, well done.

Just mind and wash the glasses properly after they have been used by the great unwashed!!!

We are struggling , its not rocket science .Look at the empty seats in section A , we have increased the costs , removed any concessions like 2 for 1 etc at a time when corporate entertainemnt is being cut across the business market

Understand the need to make money but its dissapointing that the place will be infested with that mob , its a gaurantee there will be problems -a couple of hundred of them full of drink , wait untill the chants go up and the friendly banter begins , with the Hearts fans right next to them in the suite and then they are to make there way to the roseburn

You would trust that lot to show some respect ? , it will end in trouble

Surely Hearts head of security would have been involved in discussions regarding the policing of this, and if he is happy that it can be done then there really is no problem taking money off the unwashed and spending it on the glorious Heart of Midlothian!!!(or buying another submarine!!)

it's not glory hunting when fans turn away - they are sick of the crap we have had to put up with for 2.5 seasons. Crap signings, Crap management etc etc

there's no such things as a Hearts fan glory hunter, not until we start winning the league every year anyway.

Home League Attendances against Inverness Caledonian Thistle

25 sep 04: 10,340

12 Mar 05: 9,822

10 dec 05: 16,373

26 Aug 06: 15,912

10 Feb 07: 16,631

22 Dec 07: 16,202

26 Apr 08: 15,432

20 Sep 08 12,890

On this evidence (and the St. Mirren numbers are similar) the sudden upsurge in the teams performance increased gates by about a half

Half of that increase has evaporated and half has stuck it out.

To me the packages like the curry club are a decent idea; hospitality is a quality day/night out, but it can be expensive if you're not going through a company. Some mid range packages to try to sell to groups of mates might be another thing they should look at doing.

Sorry bud never went along with that theory. Bottom line is if the team are doing well more punters come along.

Nothing better than seeing a full Tynie - hate seeing thousands of empty seats and I'm sure the players would like to see the full houses come back again.

The bit I like is "escorted to The Roseburn Stand". Is that going to be along the pitch side ? Could be fun and games !

Does anyone remember which games fans were moved at back in the 80's ? I can vaguely remember people being moved along the track to other areas of Tynie.

I think there is a difference between a glory hunter and a footbal fan ( albeit with a hearts slant ) who has decided he / she will no longer pay to watch utter p*sh
