Every time I try to get online I have to use the assistant to get online and ii keep getting a message that there is a network cable unplugged.

I am using a wireless connection thru a USB port.

Do u use wireless? If you do you can just right click the connection at the bottom right and click disable. should go away. Or do u use dial up/ broadband?

Are they easy to replace?

If you're using a wireless connection, you're not using it, so you don't need to replace it.

As above,

If you are using the wireless connection, you are not using the LAN connection, it will display "Network Cable unplugged"

If you want to permanently disable it, you can do it by right clicking on the "2 screens icon" and clicking "Disable" or you can disable the hardware profile in Device Manager
