Robbie Keane's been burgled, that makes at least six Liverpool players to be robbed in the last couple of years.

It really must be a horrible place to live. I can't think of any other club's players being robbed as frequently as that one.

Is it truly as bad a place as this would suggest....?

I've worked in Liverpool twice, for a couple of days each time. First I had a bag stolen from where I was working. Second time my hotel room got robbed. Not even a rubbish hotel but the Adelphi.

I think Liverpudlians see thieving like Indian people see begging. An honourable family business.

It'll be an inside job. Folk working at Anfield giving out address' and targeting houses when the players are at training.

Duncan Ferguson got done over twice but battered the guy with a golf club on the second attempt.

Gerard had his house broken into while he was away but his missus was still at home - must have been terrifying.

Personally , I hate going there for any reason and when you go down to the dock area in Bootle it's like Glasgow was 30 years ago. Without doubt the worst city in Britain. After an Everton game I was approached several times in aboozer and asked if I wanted to buy boxer shorts and then batteries (everything still in its wrappers).

The best was yet to come : later a middle aged woman came into the pub with bags of shopping - everything was nicked. She hung everything up on the walls and the locals walked around to see if there was anything they fancied. In the boozer you could buy under the counter knocked off fags at half price. A den of thieves just about sums it up.

Did we not just have a thread a couple of days ago stereotyping the people of Liverpool?

I've not been well and it might just be deja vu

Sorry but the stereotyping of Liverpool is way off, yes like every city it has it's bad parts but I've not once had the slightest bit hassle! Go down there every month to see the missis and it's still one of the best places i know for a night out!

His missus allegedly had a fling with a well known Liverpool gangster called 'Pancake' hence the songs about his daughters parentage.

That is actually really tame compared to the other songs the Mancs and Everton sing about it.

Wasn't he the cause of all the trouble that resulted in a recent court case (not that Gerard was willing to give evidence) where Gerard snr stuck up for a gangster because he'd 'had a word' with Pancake about threats made to Gerard jnr when he was about to sign for Chelski ? Said gangster was spoken of as some paragon of virtue when it turns out he'd threatened to kill Pancake , allegedly.

As far as I remember there was no doubt that Gerard's missus was the ex of a Scouse gangster. It's a matter of fact recorded in the press down here.

And as Man U fans used to sing at the time ...

Steve Gerard , Gerard

Wears his heart on his slieve

Signs a new contract

But still wants to leave

Prove they are not.

Two of my cousins for instance. Both Liverpudlians. Both do not have criminal records (let alone any convictions for motor vehicle theft). If either of them did, both would lose their jobs in the civil service. Incidentally, both obtained their vehicles via legal means.

Your post hinted that everyone in Merseyside is a car thief. You are talking a load of bollocks chum and whatever you may think of Liverpudlians, at least they will never sink to your ****-ridden level.

As Borthers correctly said earlier in this thread, each city/town has its low lifes and bad areas. Even your own little Utopia S.U.S.S where upon which you need to look no further than your own nose to find one example.

Had a great weekend in Liverpool recently.

Friendly people all happy to chat and no anti-Scottish racism as can be encountered in some parts of England.

Superb night out and its the cheapest place to drink in Britain I think.

I'll second that Borthers. Hate their football team (Liverpool FC that is), hate their accents but I've been twice for the weekend and had a superb time. Some cracking bars and clubs down there and all within a stagger of each other too!

Just because someone does not have a criminal record does not mean they are not a criminal.

Good point. It's like a top footballer- they're international quality BEFORE they receive their first cap, it's just not been recognised yet.
