Doctor FinnBarr
Here in Blackburn we go up north or down south, with me so far? Thats the easy bit, now it turns all weird. We go: Up to Stoneyburn (its south) Up to West Calder/Polbeth (south) Over to Linlithgow (fair enough, its over the hills) Down to South Queensferry (north) Into Bathgate (north) Any other place have such a strange slant on geography? PS, this is being done with a hangover and will make no sense later on! PPS, Mon the JT's.
neave
What about 'through'? Don't you go through to places? I go through to places like Linlithgow, Stirling, Glasgow, Motherwell etc. My mate goes through to Bathgate. South Queensferry's a weird one; best to just avoid it and Fife altogether. Exactly what I was going to say, from Edinburgh I would go through to Livingston, or through to Glasgow, but I would go over to Dunfermline. Why does everyone say they're going down to the shops?
