Griclesfield Posted August 16, 2008 Share Posted August 16, 2008 so Rangers told their fans that they were selling their best player Cuellar to Villa as a result of them not making champions league group stages .... 7 days later Cuellar leaves der hun for around 8 million pound mark ... as a result of the money they missed out on for not qualifying ... so what i don't get is ... if they needed to recoup 10 million .. why have they just spent 3 mill on Mendes, 4 mill on davies ( not done yet ), a septic tank is on his way into the squad ... so they have actually sold 1 player and bought potentially 3 or 4 players .. resulting in more wages and more money being spent. something not right with that. cosanostra Posted August 16, 2008 Share Posted August 16, 2008 Maybe Walter "loyalty" Smith realised he had a squad that was inferior to that of Sellik and he knew he needed 3 new quality players to even compete in the SPL. Therefore he had to sell one excellent player to buy 3 very good players in order to challenge Sellik. Maybe the money that the Huns needed was not to survive or balance the books, it was what the management decided they needed to have any chance of winning the league. Yep Cuellar was sold to balance the books. Although i don't think Murray was prepared for the backlash that hit him by the fans so he signed Mendes, Davis and now Edu.
