Just a quick translation of the match report from Wehen's website

Tonight the second-last warm up game in preparation for the new season took place against the famous Scottish club, Heart of Midlothian. The game took place at Halberg. Four press journalists with laptops and the two man video team of the Scottish Premier League outfit occupied the press box. They were 6 out of a total of 913 spectators who watched the game in fantastic summer weather.

In the first minute minute the SV Wehen Wiesbaden fans already had reason to celebrate; Benjamin Siegert made one of his solo runs down the right-hand side and converted to make it 1-0. Shortly thereafter Juho Makela had the first chance for the Scots , but Alexander Walke managed to put him off and the header went narrowly past the post (3).

After that SVWW created a series of further chances. However Orahovac (26), Patrick Bick (31) with a double chance and Orahovac again could not make the chances count.. Then in the 37th minute the international Bakary Diakite played in his striking partner Sanibal Orahovac, but the Scottish keeper Steven Banks was able to clear. Shortly before half-time Makela popped up in front of Alexander Walke?s goal and Walke was able to make a great reflex save.

For the second half trainer Christian Hock substituted Ales Kokot for Madi Panadetiguiri, who had played well again. The first 10 minutes belonged to the Scots as SV Wehen sat back. Then SVWW moved up a gear again, increasing the tempo and the pressure, leading inevitably to further chances. In the 61st minute new signing Orahovac shot narrowly past the post. Then defender Marko Kopilas went one better, taking the ball with his back to the goal and hitting the ball into the net on the turn-but the linesman had his flag up. No goal. Just one minute later Benjamin Siegert was fouled in the box. Sanibal Orahovac coverted the resulting penalty for a well deserved 2-0 lead. The best bit of play of the whole game followed. The Malian international Diakite won the ball in midfield, putting the speedy Siegert through. He cut the ball back from the bye line to Sanibal Orahovac who could not find the net to cfinish off the move.

In the 77th minute Alexander made a reflex save from theh advancing Jamie Mole. A few minutes later he was powerless. The substitute Ivaskevicius left the new recruit from Freiburg no chance with his header ? 2-1.

Trainer Christian Hock said ? We produced a good performance against a physically robust team. If we had made it 3-0 the game would have been over. We had to really hang on at the end and the boys did that very well.?

Proves the point I make about clubs own reports being biased

This makes it sounds like we werent in the game until our goal. LBs report makes it sounds as if we were the harlem globetrotters.

I'm sure the reality is somewhere in between
