Is that because there is a lack of trust in McCart doing the job right away? Brechin is certainly the easier game, and I notice he's not played a lot of football since October. Fair enough it would maybe make sense to leave him on the bench at Pittodrie.

Same goes for Elton. Welcome to Scotland Elton, this is Brechin. 😄 A penny for his thoughts that day.

😄 can he do it on a Friday night in Brechin though

Think we are seeing players keeping the jerseys and a functioning team so will be the same again unless Rowles is away. Hoping Taylor can make the Brechin game as well. Be good to get him flying down the right wing like Penrice does on the left. Forrester has shown his value though

Totally off subject, where’s the best place to park? Is there parking at Pittodrie

There is parking at Pittodrie, but it is restrictive and needs to be pre-arranged.

There's restricted parking near Pittodrie but you can find spots and depends where you want to head off to afterwards.

Safest likely location to get a parking spot would be along the beach which allows options to go north or south

If Hearts do beat you, that would be 11 games without a win and 8 loses, also be our first up at your gaff since about 1953.

Is the Thelin then up for a sacking, you've sacked managers for less?

Thelin won't be sacked, he will be backed

University Road opposite the Bobbin pub, no restrictions on a Sunday. 10 minute walk to the ground.

Thelin was the next Alex Ferguson a few months ago.

Now he looks rather clueless and chasing his tail with subs every game.

They’ve done well early season but carried a lot of luck. We should have pumped them twice so let’s hope it’s 3rd time lucky.

We have to break our awful recent record up there at some point, Sunday will be as good a chance as we've had in a long time. If we score first then I hope we go right for them to finish them off and not sit back on a lead. Defensively they are there for the taking.

Completely the wrong side of Pittodrie for away fans.

Far better to use the esplanade

Neil should leave well alone and pick the same team for the third time. Teamwork and grit count for a lot and is a positive contrast to Aberdeens team selection which is guided by injuries and suspensions. Only change I’d consider is McCart for Rowles if need be.

Exactly, barring illness or injury why change a winning team other than McCart for Rowles as you say.

No changes, some continuity and reward the guys who're getting the job done. Sheep  are no better than DUFC and just as physical. Keep the same tactics , keep it direct and get in their faces - especially Shinnie who I hope implodes.

Aberdeen remind me of us when Levein got off to good unbeaten start to the season only for our form to implode completely after he had his heart episode . Maybe Thelin has been on the deep fried mars bars up there 🤔

It looks like it - a winger signed on loan who cost Preston £1.7m just 6 months ago plus a bid in for an £800k rated Danish right back. It could be a good January for Aberdeen if they get all their targets and they then hit the ground running. Obviously, I hope they flop though! 👍

Where do Aberdeen get these funds? Even prior to their striker sale they were splashing the cash.

They only bid 400k and were asked to double to 800k, typical Aiberdeen skinflints

If they don't sign a centre back then Halkett and McCart could have a field day at set pieces.

It might have been said already but I know from years of experience that when a team hasn't won in ages playing Hearts has a habit of changing that. This gives me concern but I still think we have it in us to win again. It will probably be another nervy one nil win with the fingers nails gone by the end though!

I imagine the board at Aberdeen are gambling on securing 3rd place and the  guaranteed £6m reward from Europe - they must have thought it was in the bank 10 games ago. If they spend a fortune now and still miss out on third anyway then it may come back to haunt them financially though.

You wonder how sustainable they are I have to say.  Don't know a lot about it but outside looking in they spend some amount of money and their income can't be that brilliant.  They're fully dependant on sales and euro money.  Which I guess is fine as long as you achieve both.

You could say we are too to an extent, and any club's budget will be set based on hitting certain performance targets, but I always just wonder how much Aberdeen are just dependent on Cormack's whim.

Shame that would be.  It's all a bit of a longshot, but if they spend a bunch then we pip them, oh I'd laugh!  We do kinda owe them for 22/23.

Final game of the season, we're 2 points behind and have them at Tynie....

They have made good money on sales over the last number of years when you think of McKenna, Ferguson, Ramadani, Ramsey etc. Even as far back as Cosgrove they got a couple of million. They’ve also just inherited £600K from Barron.

Player sales and European group stage football.

All roads lead to Gorgie

Sweeping their stadium issues under the rug season after season and spending all the cash they have on the team is how Aberdeen seem to manage to outspend us. That will come crashing down soon once Pittodrie crumbles even more.

Yeah could be a good idea to start him and give Wilson a rest to come off the bench later on. He'll be an unknown quantity to Aberdeen and hopefully he can make an impact.

Same team apart from McCart. He should start. He knows the league, has experience and should be match fit.

Get him and Halks up for every corner, every set-piece where we are putting the ball into the box.

Rowles did very well against Motherwell, one of his best games for us, but it looks like he's leaving.

Get McCart in as soon as we can and concentrate on getting him used to the players around him.

If it's not Pittodrie, just when do we put him in? The longer it waits, the less likely he's going to hit the ground running. He could be a big threat in the opposition box, we need all the firepower we can get against this lot.

Feeling pretty confident we can end our poor run of form up there.

94 premier league appearances Vs Rowles' 82, and Rowles' have been much more recent.

I'd suggest Rowles knows the league at least as well, and has experience at a much higher level. I'd keep playing him until/unless he goes.

You could say we are too to an extent, and any club's budget will be set based on hitting certain performance targets, but I always just wonder how much Aberdeen are just dependent on Cormack's whim.

Player sales have helped them balance the books, even before the Miovski sale they've sold McKenna, Cosgrove, Ramsay, Ferguson, McCrorie & Ramadani for apparent 7 figure sums according to Transfermarkt (I know not always totally accurate & it's in Euros but if we're talking ballpark sums it's probably not far off). They're fully content with selling their key assets off each summer to allow them to continue to spend even if they miss Europe, you have to say though it's a lot of money spent for not a whole lot of reward on the park.

Trouble they have is they now know after their disaster of a run of form that regardless of who the manager is there's a good few in the squad who they previously held in high esteem that they can't rely on if they want to push on (similar to ourselves). They're going to need to spend money to upgrade the likes of McGrath & Duk (both likely away for nothing) & their back line. We'll get our Euro prize money from this season to give us a little kickstart in that regard whereas they don't have that & might not get it next year either at this rate.

They'll have a few they can sell this summer if they need to flog someone to make up a difference in income from potentially blowing a group stage place, Topi Keskinen is now a full Finnish international since he joined & is only 21, Pape Gueye was in great form before he got injured so if he gets back to that on his return someone might fancy him, Clarkson is still young enough & has the Liverpool academy graduate tag which might convince someone to pay a bit more than he's worth... They deffo don't have anyone worth Miovski money this time though so they'll need to get a couple out the door if they miss out on Europe again.

They'll eventually need to sort out their ground too, can't ignore that problem forever.

Would be our luck the way this season is going. Never really a good time for us to play up there with our record however with their current form and with us being off the back of 2 straight wins its as good a time as any, particualry with us having a rare full week to prepare for it.

Met Office saying it's likely to be 7 degrees on Sunday. I know weather forecasts are rarely bang on, but it's -1 today and I really can't see them being that far out. Should be fine.

It’s on Sky at 3pm. It’s FA cup weekend in England so Sky have empty spots to fill during their usual super Sunday

It won’t be that super a Sunday for them given the bbc have scheduled the tie of the round Arsenal v Man U at exactly the same time.  Will only be Hearts and Sheep fans watching sky I’d imagine.

Cynically helps ticks a box for Sky, too. If anyone complains about non-OF coverage, they can turn around and say, 'But we found time to show an Aberdeen-Hearts match at one of the busiest times of the season'.

£640k for Barron, with potential addition of £250k and a 10% sell on fee.

Ferguson is being touted for a move and we have 20% sell on there as well I believe.
