Maybe to help fund some of the other deals that are being worked on!!!

Just speculating.

I assumed Boyce would leave on Monday allowing him to play tomorrow and giving us a week to bring another in before the next match.

We're not gaining much candy by letting boyce go, surely

How much is that wee club contributing? How much d'you reckon boyce settled for?

Any news on transfer fee we get for LB ?

Dhanda for Boyce and let's just hope the running of Wilson and Kabangu gives Dhanda options with the ball at his feet. He really needs to step up! 🙏🙏

Hope so . Hope he toughens up and doesn’t get pushed off the ball so easily .

My thoughts, and he is better running through the midle, he needs to grab this chance and show us why he was signed!

Shankland may be fit soon, so letting Boyce go no biggy?

Doubtful as if he were to get an injury the deal could be off.

Anyone got a spare for tomorrow? Live in the west, so unable to collect from Tynie.

Just thinking of possible teams for tomorrow:

                     Gordon

Oyegoke Halkett McCart Penrice

                Devlin   Grant

 Kabangu     Dhanda      Spittal

                     Wilson

I know unlikely to be what actually happens but I'm just trying to figure out what we end up doing with regards to Rowles possibly being away, Boyce going and Shankland still out.

Good shout!

How about:

                     Gordon

Oyegoke Halkett McCart Penrice

                Devlin Grant

    Mussa     Spittal   Kabangu

                    Wilson

I wouldn't be upset at seeing that starting 11. Would just depend who's coming off the bench!

Beni for Devlin later in the game. Vargas on for Wilson if we're comfortable. Forrester for oyogoke?

Don't really want to see anyone else coming on the wings to be honest.

I don't see why we can't go out and beat them. They've lost each of their last 5 games.

As long as we can link the midfield and forwards we will win. We don't have Boyce for that now so hopefully we see Dhanda or Spittal in that role. I would prefer to see Spittal in that role because he is a bit more physical for winning headers etc.

I’d guess Beni will come in for Boyce and Grant will be pushed forward one. Rest of the team the same, with Elton getting off the bench at some point.

2-1 win for Hearts. I’ll go Craig Halkett to score from a corner.

Could we not have let him go after a crucial game on Sunday?? 🤷‍♂️

I don't think Boyce was the solution, i think dropping shanks was. I think Grant Dhanda or Spittal can come in and link the midfield.

Shanks isn’t going to be fit for Sunday though is he? Who knows when he will be fit and in a state to give us 100%!

Id just have grant in Boyces place - for all Boyce seems to be a miss at no. 10 -  in his last few ) games his passing accuracy was 50 0dd% as oppose to 80 odd for Grant - thats the number 1 basic for a no. 10

Start Elton too - protect Wilson from the likes of shinnie and give the boy a deserved break

It's a permanent deal not a loan. I assume that's what you mean by contributing.

Long overdue a win up there..... could've, should've, would've had the last time up there, but for Grants red, hopefully get the win tomorrow, 3 points and start to climb the table.

Boyce wasn’t the long term solution but we are in a tough position and he gave us a bit of physicality and experience, and was key part of good performances in the last 3 games.

Moving Grant and Spittal could disrupt the team and as for Dhanda don’t go there!

That would be the team for me too, although I think Critchley might be tempted to play Beni/Boateng alongside Devlin, and instead push Grant up to play instead of Dhanda.

I get that Dhanda hasn't performed but we've had Shanks in what is his (and Spittals) natural position for the bulk of the season.

If we're going to get a tune out of him, that's where we'll get it. Also, I don't think the physicality made much difference as we had that from shanks this season. The difference for me was a better range of passing which I think we will get from other players.

I’d want to keep the working partnerships together for this game. Halkett and Rowles, Spittal and Penrice, Forrester and Musa, Devlin and Grant. Only Boyce needs replaced so I’d go:

________________Gordon

Forrester__Halkett__Rowles__Penrice

____________Devlin__Grant

_______Musa__Dhanda__Spittal

________________Wilson

Lets see what Dhanda can do in his position

Surely new boy starts for first 60 mins. Then Wilson comes on last 30?

I was meaning from Boyce's viewpoint and Derry. Imagine if he played tomorrow and got another long term injury?

I wouldn’t mind, I just don’t want us changing too much as this is the first system that’s really worked for this season

I’ve been calling for him to leave but you just never know. A spell out the team and get his head right? Possible but I still hope he goes this window. Feels like time to move on.

Yeah we should definitely be concerned what some nonentities and a guy we've paid over a million pounds to are worrying about, we are 11th in the table and hes played the last 3 games. Critchley admitted we could do with him tomorrow. Hopefully it won’t matter but ira just another example if how soft we are.

I am not so sure about us being soft but more about wanting to get him and his high wage off the books to bring in others.

He was still under contract until the end of the season remember and this is a chance to get him away now.

I think it is quite clear that we are trying to improve the team for the fight we face for the rest of the season and to try and get away from the danger zone.

Not sure what the ira bit is all about. 😍

Davy, I don’t think anyone is that arsed about Boyce leaving. I just think we’d have been as well waiting until Monday. We’ve finally found a way if winning games and could really be doing with playing the same 11 that beat Motherwell and United.

Getting him off the wage bill is all well and good if theres a replacement, quite surprising that Derry feel the need to get him in just now, and pay him when their season doesn’t start until Valentine’s Day?

Big fingers, sometimes type ira instead of its 🤪

Gordon

Oyegoke Halkett McCart Penrice

Beni Devlin

Musa Spittal Kabangu

Wilson

Or

Gordon

Oyegoke Halkett McCart Penrice

Musa Beni Devlin Vargas

Wilson Kabangu

(2nd far too attacking imo though)

Still hopeful in a few weeks Kabangu can be up front with some wingers coming in
