The Unthinkable

Americana

Recommended Posts

When do you get to the point with Aberdeens flying start where you start to think "were not catching them, so good for them" and start to hope they do the unthinkable and take away a league from the OF.

Granted its early days but it should encourage others to push ahead in the future.

We are well passed that point 🤣

What are they 20+ points clear of us?

Call me bitter but I really don't like Aberdeen as a club and don't really care much about their success, I don't really like the thought of them challenging the Tic for the title, (I know, early days) would be a bit like choosing to be kicked in the left nut or the right nut, not sure it really makes much difference.

I personally hope their form falls off a cliff and they finish 4th or something.

A team that probably hates us as much as they hate Rangers. Not for me, no thanks

Aberdeen fans are the worst.

The most obnoxious ***** in our game still going on about the 1980s.

Them winning the league would be an absolute disaster for so many reasons.

Why? it's more common than winning anything under current regime.

Going down again would be nothing short of disastrous. All the work getting into Europe completely undone, a laughingstock again. No administration or Covid to blame this time either. Ending back in the championship is unthinkable for our club

No chance. There’s only one team that will be splitting the OF and that’s us. Obviously not this season 😂

Thing is one day a team outside the OF are going to win the league despite the obvious massive gap in resources.

What’s truly unthinkable is that team not being Hearts, because it’s not going to happen again in a lifetime.

Couldn't care less about Aberdeen. Far more concerned that Budge and co could oversee another relegation. We know to our profound cost that such a notion isn't fanciful.

**** no. Rangers and Celtic winning the league is meaningless.  Doesn’t hurt at all. If anyone else does it it has to be us.

Aberdeen aren’t winning the title anyway, fair ****s to them but they have been lucky (not last night) . Their actuals goals scored is double their xG.

I'd prefer the OF to win another meaningless title than to let those ***** celebrate anything. Incredibly jealous of their position right now.

We should be up there with them but for the absolute shit show that is this season.

They're not winning the league. Would be funny if they, and someone else, hopefully us, got above The Rangers this season though. I'd just about be able to stomach that.

Couldn't care less about them. The only thing it shows is how poor our preparation was in the summer. That is where we should be, challenging at the top end of the league instead of struggling to beat dross like Kilmarnock, Motherwell and Ross County.  Naismith has left us in a mess and looking to beat a team like St Johnstone supported by 2 men and a dog to remain within the pack, a terrible state of affairs.

The 'unthinkable' I'm contemplating is relegation the season after coming third, with a supposedly better squad. I couldn't care less about Aberdeen.

Can’t stand Aberdeen.  Wanted them pumped last night.  Doesn’t matter who the opposition were.

Watching wee dciks like Shinnie strut about thinking he’s the man grates me.

Aberdeen aren't winning the League but to be clear it would be a ****ing disaster if they did so.

This. For so many different reasons too.

I'm unbelievably jealous & bitter about their position I can't lie. It's absolutely game on to split the OF after that result last night.

IF the unthinkable was to happen I'd have mixed emotions - the end of the duopoly will feel like a win for Scottish football when it eventually happens but I want it to be us who do it & seeing someone else do it will be tough to stomach. It won't happen anyway because Celtic are quite clearly still the best side in the league.

Ain't interested in Aberdeen or anybody else , we need to concentrate on ourselves and get to the January transfer window gathering as many points as possible to then make some changes to back the manager

Far from unthinkable I'm sorry to say.....look at five years ago and the similarities are frightening/many......we havent a hope in hell of getting near Aberdeen. getting top six would be an achievement ---- we said month after month five years ago, Nah we cant go down so fingers crossed that this bunch of players and manager really prove this to be right - SOON

No chance. I will be cheering Celtic on rather than want Aberdeen to win the league.

That ship sailed a long time ago. Forget the top 3.

At this rate I’d be delighted to finish 6th-9th

Aberdeen will hit a poor run of form, I suspect mid January, Celtic will open up a 10 point gap. They have a chance a second if Rangers continue with Clement.

Completely nauseating. If it was us they'd be talking about the predictable downfall from day 1. God forbid they upset Willie Miller though.

I'd be happy for them TBH. Worked in catering at Pittodrie as a student and saw all the games.

Loads of mates were Dons fans.

Football forums are not indicative of the general support.

I like aberdeen, good luck to anyone who can have a real go at the old firm and deny them CL football.

Would I be jealous? Sure.

Bitter ? no

I remember supporting D utd and Aberdeen in Europe before the OF duopoly destroyed the good will in Scottish Football.

I’m jealous and bitter too - but more than that bewildered at our respective positions this season compared to last.  WTF has happened?

Otherwise, no.  Another meaningless Celtic league title please and a spectacular Aberdeen collapse.  Them even splitting the OF would be unbearable.

I don’t mean unthinkable as in it won’t happen I just mean I can’t even bear to bring myself to think about it actually happening

Really ? A more odious arrogant support you’ll struggle to find. I’d rather shit in my hands and clap that wish them well.  One look at hearts social media and it’s absolutely crawling with them.  They have some sort of weird obsession with us

Generally find them to be horrible people from a horrible part of the world. Cold, negative and grim all over. Fair play to them for their start, for all they had a bit of luck against us you can't really grudge them a great start to the season, it can't all be luck.

It remains to be seen whether they can maintain that and I'm looking forward to the comparison in a couple of years once Bloom has had his wicked way with us. Fairly confident things will look a bit different.

Also their stadium is shit.

We don’t have enough wee dicks like Shinnie that’s our problem.  No character in our squad at all.  I don’t see anybody in our team getting ripped into each other during the game or trying to push their teammates on just a bunch of wet lettuces.
